Now that's a task. Ive seen it done here in the city im in but it was a real shotty job. Not to knock the guy down but he didn't really know exactly he was doing and had to leave sensors out and whatnot. The car runs and drives, but that's about it. I would recommend you get a CA16DE harness and ECU. 90% of us pulsar guys that have done this conversion use this. Its much easier and will be less of a hassle.

ya see there in lies the problem, there is no ca16de's anywhere around here, and i scored a ca18de pulsar CHEAP

i have a cut ca18det harness, im pretty sure i can just mate up the plugs to the wires i have, but i need to know what direction to go lol

im so lost, ive got this cut harness and ive got this new harness.... can i mate the plugs that im missing? like will the colors be the same?

sry for the late reply but Ive been swamped at work.

Simply put, each of the harnesses uses a different coloring schematic. You manually have to go wire by wire to see what does what exactly and match it up with the coinciding wire from the other harness... It's a b*tch of a job which is why a CA16DE harness is the easiest route to go. All I did was splice 6 wires with my existing CA18DE harness to make the DET work. I understand the situation you are in but if meshing the two harnesses is your only option, it is doable, but it'll be one hell of a mess.

If need be, I can try and source out a CA16DE harness and ecu for you.

Let me know

okay. i think i know what im going to do then,

im gunna try to figure out which plugs im missing from my det harness, and then ill try to figure that out

i geuss i just have to **** with it and get it done, im sure it cant be THAT hard. just alot of time.

Now what cars have the CA16DE?

Hey. I'm guessing you have a CA18DET??? I'd say that the best thing would be to leave the car's harness in and use that. Like DjLiquid said ,you'd have to trace each wire and go from there. Be prepared to spend some time with it. A lot of the plugs on the car's harness should be able to reach the sensors on the engine and plug right in. However, the US & JDM models have different intake manifolds, and that's where most of the difference will be. You'll have to lengthen some wires and stuff. I have also found that the injector plugs are slightly different as well. You'll probably have to cut the injector plugs off of the car's harness and splice in the ones from the RWD harness. Maybe some other plugs are like that as well. Check out this old thread too, maybe the pictures will help you a little...

I think it's fairly safe to assume that since you're asking such techincal questions about this kinda car you own a 1988 Nissan Pulsar NX SE w/ the CA18DE engine. The 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX SE is the only car that came with the CA16DE. It's pretty identical to our CA18's with a few minor differences. The dropping resistor which you will need to run the CA18DET injectors, ECU, Harness, displacement, exhaust cam, transmission (its a cable instead of hydraulic) but that's about it.

click this link:http://forum.nissanexa.com/showthread.php?t=8817

DevilEXA has two posts up at the top. They are broken into two sections. First being the CA16DE and the second is the CA18DE. Every link is a direct download of each section of the FSM for each engine/car

Enjoy them apples!

Trying not to sound like a tosser, but:

The powervalve is the vaccuum actuator that controls the secondary butterflys in the intake manifold.

I had assumed he was talking about the actuator as well since you cant plug anything straight into the butterfly valves

Where do the wires plug into on the actuator???
