Who wrote it? I know it was Marcus Boese, but what's your posting name?
As an owner of a Pulsar NX, I thought it was great!

Here's the article for those who haven't read it http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/retros ... ar-se.html

Here's my dirty 1988 NX. It's an SE, with a 5 speed. Doesn't drive, the stock CA18DE has a blown head gasket. I am slowly getting a CA18DET ready to put in it. Been getting sidetracked with other stuff for years, unfortunately. Finally putting effort into it as I once again have the cash to continue on her.

These pics are old. It is currently in my garage with no drivetrain.

Hope to hear from the author!

Hey Conley, I'm Marcus. If you're on nissanexa/nx forum my tag name is the same there as well. Good to see another se getting saved!
Like I said in the article I have the 87 se pictured and my 89 racecar. Picking up the engine for that next weekend actually. haha

I definitely understand getting sidetracked though! That's why I've dropped just about everything I have for the racecar now.

What ca18det are you getting for yours? or are you going to just +t the stock motor? I'm grabbing a bluebird sss-r ca18det in California to throw in mine. And I know it's a long shot but do you know anything about the lsd being compatible between the awd trans and our fwd?

Have you given thought yet, Marcus, about pulling the AWD gearbox apart and seeing if it'll fit the FWD gearbox?

That's actually a great thought Jason. I'll have to take a look at it... I know I told you I dropped the awd idea but you just brought it back! haha I'll take a look at what it looks like tonight!

Yeah, I figure the LSD would fit in there somewhere. Afterall, you can buy an LSD kit.

Ok I am trying to get some more information. before I start a project. First I am the proud owner of an 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX.

I have a spare car (1999 Nissan Altima GXE) that runs and drives but it's totaled.

Pulsar has a E16I.
Altima has a KA24DE.

I need info. on swapping the engines and drive trains. I know it's a tall order but it's going to happen. (just need some help)

I know I would have to modify the motor mounts dropping the whole sub frame is possible but it's not going to just bolt up.

Pulsar wheelbase is 96 in.
Altima wheelbase is 109 in.

Any wiring diagram for either car would help.

I would like to make it a plug and play. I have all the access I need for the wiring side of that.
