I did a search in the forums, but couldn't find anything.

I want to swap in a pulsar gti-r sr20det in to a 90' 240sx fastback, with the awd

will it drop in, or what things will i have to "fix" to accomadate the swap?

i mean, i figure if i got the front clip, coming with the axels and awd transmission, i would have everything i need for the full swap.

what else would i need? what problems would i run in to?

thanks for the helpneo

I'm not sure but I don't think it'll bolt in because the engine is transversly mounted in the pulsar...right? So you'd need an AWD transmission for a longitudinal mounted engine like the skyline which I'm almost 100% positive doesn't exist for a SR20DET. On top of that I din't think the engine mounts are the same.

The only way that you'd be able to get AWD in a 240sx would be with an RB series motor and a Skyline GTR's AWD transmission, and I'm not sure that has even been done. But if it has plan on spending easily over $10K for the engine and installation, depending on which RB series engine you got.

If anything I've said is wrong someone please correct me, as I'm not positive and I don't want to give misinformation.

even if you have the transmission, there is a reason no one has done it. BUt if you can that would be really cool and unique but its gonna take some work

Even if you pull something off like that, you will be spent with the time it will take to do it let alone the cost.

lets see a tranversely mounted engine with the axles, transmission, drive shafts from a car that is half as long and not as wide as a 240? BAHAHA lets add more weight for AWD but have the same HP as an s13 SR! good call.

a pulsar motor converted to rwd would be cool but it would take some work just to do that. leave the awd alone, one of the best things about the s13 is the rwd.

you cant really convert the pulsar motor to rear wheel drive, the engine block is not the same as the silvia one in any way shape or form.

BTW, i heard a similar question like this before, "can i put a B18 in my 240?"

"can i put a FWD/AWD SR20DET in my 240?" is the same as "can i put a honda integra motor in my 240?"

because both are damn near imposible to put in without spending thousands upon tens of thousands of dollars and it wouldnt be worth it. Why the hell would you want your 240 to be fwd anyway?

Get it now?
