Those are awesome cars. My neighbor has 2.5. Two complete and one Ford Festiva with the Mazda GTX drivetrain.ScorchedNX2K wrote: Always go for a 323 GTX though. Those are killer, and will only set you back 5k for a decent one.

The law is 20 years for emissions and 25 for import.Chaotic_Warlord wrote:Not to sound stupid or anything but aren't the GTI-r's old enough to qualify as a classic car seeing as they are over 15 y/o so wouldn't they be exempt from the silliness that is the DMV?
NO, that's a N13 pulsar. This one is an N14 hatchback.Chaotic_Warlord wrote:Also when I first saw this thread I thought dude wanted to get one of these...
that varies by state. it's 25 years up here to be exempt from emissions. mileage/year won't matter unless you run antique plates.Dattebayo wrote:The law is 20 years for emissions
Correct. In fact most states I've come across it's 25 (the same time you can put antique plates on your car). Maryland, however, it's 20 and you can put "historic" plates on, but then again, Maryland also has a "street rod" plate which allows you to do pretty much anything you want on the planet to a car.numbnuts240 wrote:that varies by state. it's 25 years up here to be exempt from emissions. mileage/year won't matter unless you run antique plates.Dattebayo wrote:The law is 20 years for emissions
