We’ve bought a 2007 M35x in the past few weeks, and are enjoying it greatly. One question, though: when stopping (from a relatively slow speed), the car will sometimes pull to one side. It’s not always the same side though, and it doesn’t always happen, so it doesn’t seem to be a brake or alignment problem. My guess is that it has something to do with the tires or wheels. (It’s equipped with Goodyear Eagle RS-A M+S P245/45R18’s). Tire pressure reads as OK.

This is the first time we’ve had a car with tires remotely close to this wide or this low. My guess is that the width or the low profile exaggerates the effect of irregularities in the road surface. Is that characteristic of low and/or wide tires? Or is it likely that we have some other kind of problem? Thanks.

Well as 45 series tires are not usually considered low profile, in my opinion at least, that is probably your problem. They are a bit more responsive on the road and especially on inclines in the road, even slight ones, the car will go to that sideCheers

I find the same thing with my 2006 M35X. It is a bit disconcerting and I've simply attributed it to the wide tires. I don't have "low profile" tires. I intend to ask the dealer about it with my maintenance appointment this month.

Welcome to NICO, Lapsang and VancouverM35X!

Unfortunately, the Goodyear Eagle RS-A is what I would blame for this to some degree, if all else is right with the car and the road is not inclined (try braking on more level roads).

These are lousy tires, and I wish car manufacturers would abandon them instead of making them standard equipment!
