pulling motor question

im about to pull the motor. where do i bolt in the chain on the motor for the cherry picker?

FSM? i used the brackets for the motormounts and just chain it up from each side. you can use other parts, but just make sure it doesnt put too much pressure on certain part which can break.

if i was you..id pull the head off and use the head bolts for the chain..thats the way i have done it for 35 years....before you drop the motor back in..add some chain attachment brackets to it..so you dont have to remove the head again.

When pulling my motor, I used a stud from the exhaust manifold and wrapped the chain around the #1 intake runner with a bolt through the chain. Didn't have any problems doing it that way. DO NOT use the threads near the top of the head as they WILL rip out, guaranteed. Aluminum ftl.

when i pulled mine out i used a chain with hooks and hooked them right up to the firewall side of the opening on the motor mounts conected to block side.
