Hey there,
My newly picked up 280z has light rust in the battery tray area (common area). I'm going to cut and weld new material in, and while I'm there i might as well shave, primer, and repaint the bay.

I've never cherry picked a motor out of an s30 before. That being said, Is there anything out of the "norm" with these cars that would result in damage to the chassis or engine while pulling it. Thanks.

It's pretty simple, I usually run a ratchet strap under the trans and hook it on the lip in front of the cowl panel on either side to support the trans. If the engine still has the slings on it use them and a length of chair, otherwise a length of chain bolted to the head on the passenger side front and the rear intake bolt (with a longer bolt).
