I'm replacing the engine because it is seized up. How can I undo the bolts on the TC/flexplate if I can't spin it to line them up with the access hole? What's plan B for a Q in this condition? Thanks.

Engine swap is fun on a Q. lol. Easiest way is to drop the transmission attached to the engine. Exhaust, torque converter. Most front suspension pieces need to be disconnected. Have a few pics i can send ya if you want

as cheap as they are today, it might be faster and cheaper to just purchase another Q and use/sell your broken one for parts!!!!

yeah, fun in a  sort of way

I'm trying to pull the engine out the top, but I have to separate it from the transmission to do that. I may have to disassemble the engine in the car enough to ease the tension on the crankshaft. I think the bearings are seized.

You're probably right. Hell you ARE right, but I don't have that option($$$). Plus, I bought this car broken because it had everything I was looking for:

Dark Green
94t = metal guides, grille, and rear spoiler
Factory Chrome rims
Interior smells like new and just has one tear on the driver's seat
Rest of the car appears to be in very good condition

So I'm going to take my best shot at fixing this one. I know its not really a DIYer type of car, but I've done a dozen motor/transmission swaps just this year. Of course, the Q is a bit different than a Subaru. I already have the replacement motor too. If I didn't, then I would consider parting it.

I've seen a lot of crappy Qs for $1000-1500 that run, but nothing that calls to me like this 94t did. I realize that replacing the engine might be just the beginning for me on this car, but fixing cars is my thing. So I'll give it a shot.

Actually with the rain season just starting in Oregon, having a high-powered RWD car is probably not the best choice for a pizza man. I do have a Subaru Legacy for traction. Probably a better idea to grab a running Q at the start of spring. Damn, the Oregon rain can be depressing.

I'm wondering what kind of demand there is for 1994 Q45t parts at the moment.

I'm looking for a 94 model drive shaft setup.. I tried to buy one from another member in the Atlanta area.. I couldn't get the weight to calculate shipping cost.

Does it have any additional stabilizer bars?

Does the positive battery cable post still have the red terminal cover?

Instead of moping around today, I decided to turn some wrenches and the suspension and exhaust came off very quickly and easily. Motor/transmission are ready to drop now, but won't be able to get to it until tommorrow. Still on the fence about what to do.

Drop the transmission/engine combo. its as simple as dropping the exhaust. I take that back, dont drop the engine raise the car and wheel the engine combo out from underneith, thats the way i did it.

The starter is hitting a brick wall.

I've got someone coming to look at the motor tommorrow and I will be checking out a 92 Q.
