ok, i just need some suggestions on what to get. should i get the set of 4 pulleys for like $400, or just the crank pulley for $100, am i going to get that much more hp from the 3 more pulleys, or is the crank pulley going to make the majority of the power? basically is it worth the $300 more?

Unorthodox makes a crank pulley and I think Enjuku makes a kit.

U/R makes a 4 pulley kit and enjuku has it for like $400, they also sale the crank pulley individually for like $140, ASP sales the crank pulley for $100. Does anyone have any suggestionsn for me??? anyone?

ur sig says u have asp pulleys already. but on U/R site they say 85% of the power is made by underdrving the crank pulley then the rest is by the lightweightness of the acessory pullies. im pretty sure thats what it was

when you do the crasnk pully only, you tend to have problems with the alternator and power strreing pumps being overworked. The extra pulleys in the set are overdrive pullies for your accessories.

Personally, I would rather spend the extra cash to get the pullies as a set than spend twice as much to replace a power steering pump and alternator later on.

actually ive had the asp crank pulley for a while, just havent had the time to put it on, and i was just wondering if it would be better to get the kit from U/R, but i think ill save the $300 and just keep the asp, by the way, anyone know which belts need to be replaced with the asp crank pulley and the sizes???

A/C belt remains the same size - ASP was nice and didn't under drive your A/C...it's free-wheeling anytime you're at WOT anyway.

But the other 2 belt sizes can be found on...drumroll please...the ASP website!!! - Here's the link directly to the KA install page... :D

Good luck - Brian

i don't see why these pulleys are such a big deal anyways. the crank pully doesn't really weigh that much anyways. i can support it with my index finger.

and also for $200 you will feal equal or greater benifits to a custom exhaust. it's a good power maker for the cost, and essential for N/A build up.

ummm...not saying that Import Tuner is the greatest mag ever, but they are owned by PRIMEDIA, either way, they got 9.4HP from peak to peak, from their U/R Pulley set, the SS set of 4. I'll scan the sheet if peopel really care, but they only got 5.1 on the intake, and 3.6 on the exhaust.

Well i dont recomend the ASP pulley, had to pull it off shorty after putting it on, and it has a hair line crack right where the crank stops. havnt contacted ASP about it so i dont know what they would do. its also on a KA24e engine. check about http://www.RPMoutlet.com i belive it cost me 90.

I believe ASP stands by their product, and mistakes CAN and WILL happen, they can't be perfect all the time. I bet that if you talked to them, they'll remedy the problem.

The $400 you spend on the pulley kit can be used towards a nitrous setup.

Just go with the ASP pulley for $100 and save the $300 for something else. I've had it on my car for a year now and no problems whatsoever. The guy who had the bad ASP pulley might have gotten a defective one or something...

when you buy the $400 set, your getting all the pulleys, yes, but only the crank pulley is under-driven. The others are just made out of aluminum, that is lighter. So the $400 set WILL give more power, but only slightly, you'll get the core of the power back from the under-driven crank pulley, and ASPs is cheap, so I'd suggest that,
