Hi all,

Has anyone installed a pulley set on their SR20det (or has plans to)? I heard it adds 10-12wrhp, if it actually does I may consider getting a set for my SR and installing them when I get my motor swap done.

Is this worth it? Any difference in times?

Heard greddy makes a set, also unorthodox. Which is better?

I have the Greddy pulleys, they're very nice looking pieces. But they're more cosmetic than anything. They are lighter weight than stock so I'm sure they add a couple extra horsepower, but I doubt 10-12 rwhp. They're not underdrive pulleys (they're the same size as the stock pulleys). Underdrive pulleys would probably add a little more horsepower than these. Are the unorthodox underdrive?

Fine I wont believe ANYTHING I read or hear about anymore (read it would add 10-12 hp for pulleys), especially when you say you run low 13's on a stock set up. : )

Just change the main pulley. It will give you 4-5 hp for sure.. The other ones wil only give you maybe 3 more combined. The stock pulley is like 5 lbs. The aftermarket is like 0.8 lbs.

Where can this aftermarket pulley be found? I've only seen the GReddy kit which has the alternator, water pump and power steering pulleys.

A good place to look is http://www.b15sentra.net for pulleys for the SR20DE. I think the pulley you want is the UR pulley.

Are you SURE that a pulley set from a FWD SR20DE will fit a RWD SR20DET? In my explorations, there isn't as much interchangability as one might think.

AS far as drive configuration, I have no idea wether you are doing a FWD or RWD. I am just saying that the main alt pulley will get you 4-5 hp and 2 ftlbs of tq. I think UR has one but don't quote me. I am sure that they have an under drive pulley but then you need to change your belts. It is better to just get a much lighter full sized pulley IMO.

I think Go Fast Bits makes a pully for the RWD application

I believe pulleys doesn't add anymore hp to what you already have, all it really does is just put less stress on your engine so it just runs a little bit more efficient...this is just my opinion on it, but if you guys really want to know if these aftermarket pullies add hp or not just go dyno it after installing those pullies.

They definately do not change the HP of the motor. All they do is allow the alternator to be spun more efficiently. This reduces the power consumption by the alternator and allows that power to goto the wheels. It is just like when you turn your AC on and off. There is a noticable power diff.
