The bundle of connectors you're looking for is on the passenger side of the plenum. Maybe you'll get lucky and have #1, #2 or #8 injector be bad so you don't have to pull the plenum. KS should read around 550 ohms, FI S/B 12-14. Let us know your readings.TmaCular wrote:this is great news..can i ohm the harness without pulling the plenum..i have yet to do any big work to this car so im a little nervous ripping it apart
You beat the odds. Two of the three bad injectors, #1 and #8, can be changed out easily without pulling the plenum. The engine will run much better if you can change out just those two. Add a bottle of Redline S1 Fuel System Cleaner to the fuel tank when you're done and you may get some temporary relief on the #4 injector that's on it's way out.TmaCular wrote:ok i have ohmed the injectors...here are my readings
1-192.3
7-12.0
6-11.0
4-50.0
8-0.0 was not getting any reading
3-13.0
5-10.2
2-14.1-.2
KS code is a secondary code to the injector issue you're having. Chances are they're good and the correct voltmeter will verify. Ohm test them before going through the trouble of replacing them.TmaCular wrote:......knock sensors i could not ohm because multimeter didnt go to 550k, i plan on just replaceing both anyways because of the code.....
KS are ohming good. No need to change them other than for preventative maintenance while you have the plenum off.TmaCular wrote:....i ohmed the knock sensors and i got 560 out of one and 540 out of another.
No. You have a 94Q and the FI are not interchangeable with a 90-93Q.TmaCular wrote:...... i pulled the whole harness off the 92 will those injectors work with my car....
With lots of spray lube you need to be able to get the FI to twist 360 degrees in the fuel rail cup before they'll pull out. At this age they're so brittle that using any hand tool (i.e. screwdriver, pliers) will break the plastic housing. Once they're lubed enough to rotate I pull them out by forming a noose out of a small diameter (3/16") piece of rope and pulling straight up with a steady pressure. If lubed with penetrant they'll pop right out.TmaCular wrote:.....also is there a trick to getting the injectors out. i can not get them out for the life of me without breaking them i fear....
Contact Chris and tell him you're a Nico member. Here's a recent thread with the contact info:TmaCular wrote:i went to the site and im not showing any injectors under infiniti in the q45 section...other cars use same i can look up ??
