Hi guys,

My car seems to have a strange powerband, off the line it pulls ok, then has a boggy midrange before vvl kicks in.

Is this normal? Does the JWT ecu VVL engagement drop it low enough to get rid of this?

Pardon my stupidity, (I haven't looked) but does our lower intake have a variable runner system?

If I get caught in the wrong gear at the wrong rpm, my goose is cooked. It's like waiting for VTEC in the wrong gear, yawn, yawn, yawn, blam!

It sounds very much like my car!!! Probably bad knock sensors!

It does feel like it has a lot of timing pulled out....I haven't looked at my fsm yet, let me guess, the knock sensor(s) are installed under the lower intake, or on the back of the block where the bellhousing is. (sarcasm)

Great, ala GM LS1 style, 'course at the time the Q came out, they were still driving warmed over L98's. =)

i'm not sure if it's the knock sensors or just finding the Q in the wrong speed with the wrong gear! i get a very slight "chug" when cruising between 40-50 mph. classic symptoms of bad KS. hopefully not the trans. same thing though, sometimes when hitting the throttle hard, drops to first, sometimes back into second. always fast though!!! can only dream about another 30-60 horsepower if the KS's are bad!!!!jeff ps-wes, can't wait for the "extensive write-up". will be following your lead!

Yeah..... I REALLY need to get that done!!! Every mile I put on it is like a failure waiting to happen from the KS making the engine run rich!!!! Not to mention gas mileage.....!
