As I sit on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck, this is all I can do to keep sane, make a post on NICO through my blackberry, knowing someone will read and go "awwww that sucks" I was driving over a a long sweeping uphill left hand curve, when I felt what I thought was loss of power. The rpms where up, but no toque, I'm thinking turbo just died. I start slowing down and baby the car. I make it about another 200 yards and I see a white puff of smoke come out of the back of the car through my rear view mirror. Just then the engine shut off, I pull over. I turn key and attempt to restart when I see another white puff and the engine just cranks and won't fire. Something tells me my head is done or I lost compression on a cylinder I don't know yet. But any help would be appreciated. EDITAfter searching and reading I think its the head gasket, except I did not over heat, so hopefully head is not warped.

Yes, and I am looking at better parts. 1) I take head off, and replace the gasket, (with what type)2) Anything else that I can replace while IM in there(lets try to keep it under $500)So if I get a Tomei HG thats 250, So now I have another 250...how to spend it?

good rocker arm stoppers would be nice. and maybe a port job and resurfacing if you have change to spare.

Good suggestions, even though I ma not too crazy about rocker arm stoppers. I think a good decking and a port and polish sounds like a great idea.I just found a shop that will do the decking and has a flow bench guy...

why waste your money on a tomie headgasket? thats a bit retarded to spend that much for their HG.. IF i were you..Id stick with a metal cometic headgasket and arp studs and call it a day.
