I have a 2007 M35X and I've had it for a few months now. Within the past week I have developed a huge puddle of water under my passenger side floor mat. The water is ONLY under the floor mat. The pillars and the carpet on the side of the doors are completely dry. It has been raining a lot lately but it's rained plenty since I've owned the car and this is the first time I've had a ton of water under my floor mat. I've done as much research as possible as to what it could be. I checked the drains at the sunroof and they don't seem to be clogged at the sunroof but I dont know where they lead to or how to check the bottom end. I also don't know where the A?C drain is located or how to check that.Within the past week I know I've driven through some deep puddle rather quickly so is it possible that a grommit came out somewhere? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated because I need to figure this out before I run in to a mold problem. Thanks in advance guys!

Were you using your ac more these days? Was it really hot where you live? I can't see the AC condenser producing that much water unless it's really humid. How deep was the water you drove through?

I always use the AC, it's been a little bit hotter than normal but not too bad. The leak came once it started raining really bad. The puddles were fairly deep, probably up to the lug nuts on the wheels for some of them.

Take it to to the shop and ask them to check for a gap between the front windshield the window frame. If the windshield has been replaced and the caulking was sub par, you will have a water leak.

I did not have pooling of water, however, I did have water leaking onto the body control module and that caused my car not to start, water seeped into the control module, this resulted into wet contacts during heavy rain, wet melting snow and car washes.

Note that the key less entry control module is right next to the body control module, both of these modules will cost you a ton of money and tons of hours in labour.

Hae you have the windshield replaced?

I haven't had the windshield replaced since I've owned the car but I'm not sure if the previous owner had the windshield replaced

I bought mine used as well and the windshield is OEM- But it is worth taking down the inside left liner (driver foot well), pull it back as far as you can and see if you have water or moisture in there. It has to be a leak from up top not from down below, it is not your AC unless your heater core is screwed, it would smell funny when the heat is on.

Good luck and thanks for serving, our hands are on our hearts for all of those who put themselves in harms way - US or Canadian same job same scarafice-

I just went outside and tried pouring water in to the front sunroof drain. I'm not sure if its supposed to drain fast or not, but mine either seemed to not be draining at all or an extremely low rate. Would that cause only the bottom of the floor to get wet though? where does the sunroof drain come out on the bottom of the car?

If I recall correctly the sunroof drain runs along the passenger window pillar and drains there. I think your pillars would be wet as well if it were leaking from the sunroof.

The AC drain runs under the car but even so you would have to be living in a rainforest climate with HUGE amounts of humidity to form puddles of water from the AC condenser not draining. I would clean it up and monitor things closely. Try to stay away from larger pools of water from what you described it could have leaked in during a fast run through the puddles.

I had a similar problem that I never figured out the winter before last. It was on the driver side, it recurred every time it got above freezing, and it stopped when summer came. I suspected it might be leaking from the windshield, but got lucky enough to not experience it this year. Both years I was garageless, but the temperatures were more consistent this winter. My windshield is OEM, but my car is used, so I don't know if it has been replaced either.
