I still have to call nissan to see if my ptu was replaced for the recall...but, I was wondering if this would be caused by the ptu....when i cold start up my car it starts fine....after its warmed up and i try to start it....it starts then idle goes straight to zero for like the first couple times? Im thinking its getting way hot and doesnt want to operate correctly..what do u guys think

PTU???

Like, "power take-off unit", like a tractor? Lawn mower?

You can tell if you have a newer style PTU or not just by looking at it. When looking at the front of the engine, it's on the left side, on the timing belt cover right in front of the exhaust cam gear.

Old Style - it has heat sinks and the like on it.

New Style
