OK this is very subtle, but it's not in my imagination.
Does anyone else hear a very slight PTrrrrr when they start thier car? It sounds like pulling a door spring and letting it go PTrrrrr, but very quiet.
My car does this EVERY time I start it up. It's coming from somewhere in the cabin.
Not even loud enough to be annoying, just disturbs me that I don't know what's making that noise.

It's the fuel pump.If the car doesn't start in a few seconds it is shut off for safety reasons.Try it: Turn ignition to the "on" position, The pump will run for about 2 seconds and then stop."Pttrrrrrrrr."

It makes the noise after the engine starts. The duration is only about half a second. I don't think it's the fuel pump, at least not the fuel pump shutting off. Maybe it makes that noise sterting up and then it goes away. I can't imagine what part of a fuel pump might sound like a spring twanging.

Mine makes the exact same noise prior to each start. As I mentioned I can make the noise just by going to the "on" position with the ignition. If you listen closely you can hear the pump and the "ptrrrr" noiseMy daughters VW does the same thing. Maybe it's a relay, solenoid or some sort of pressure regulator and not the actual fuel pump, but I gotta beleive the "ptrrrr"is related to the fuel pump priming the system.

Okay I am not too sure that this problem is gonna be my Fuel pump, but i definately notice that it is my Air conditioning, pay attention to the car when you start it and turn on the A/C. it is very annoying.

I narrowed it down to the AC. If I turn off the AC and start the car, I don't hear the noise. Turn on the AC and there's the noise. Ptrrrrrr
Just like someone threw a dagger at the wall and it stuck Ptrrrrr. Very subtle, but there.
