So I was driving on the freeway and saw a big pothole. Unfortunately, I could not avoid it without doing some wild maneuver. I broke and hit it almost straight on (the pot hole was about the width of my car). After I hit it, I heard a pppssssttttt sound. It kinda sounded like air leaking out. So i stopped the car and checked for a flat. No flat. Ive been driving around and it feels ok. Ive been coming up with lots of ideas, but I don't know if its just from being paranoid. Just wondering what you guys think it might be?

was it real quick? if so it could just have been your struts/shocks farting. they do that.

By quick, do you mean lasted a short time, or air coming out quickly? Well it sounded rapid and i pulled over immediately. After checking everything, I went back onto the road and heard nothing. Car seemed to run fine. Wouldn't be a blown shock right? Sometimes its hard for me to tell with coilovers and **** roads. I've only had them for like a month, so I hope they're intact. Also, how probable is it to be the radiator or exhaust? I don't really know how to tell whether or not it is a leak, unless its totally obvious. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm...It was a pretty long noise. It only stopped when I stopped the car, but never came back.

check to make sure you still have coolant in the radiator and check to make sure the A/C is working.

A/C is fully working and coolant is perfectly full.I hit the pothole while driving home (san francisco) for spring break and have since drove back down to socal without any real problems. But I don't wanna just ignore it and have some sorta big problem on my hands further down the road when it mite be easily fixed rite now.

maybe you picked something up off the road and was dragging it? Did you check your tire pressure after? may be you mentioned that already not sure.

have you taken your rim off and checked the inside lip. you may have bent it to where it only let some of the pressure out as a hissing, and when enough pressure was released the tire got slacker and filled the gap b/w the tire and rim. my buddy had that happen and drove about a month on a bent rim without even knowing and without the tire going flat.

I checked tire pressure and its fine, but didn't check the inner part of my rim. BUT I did get a 4 wheel alignment and they never mentioned anything about a bent rim. (I would hope they would tell me if they saw one)

I hope it was just something I was dragging on the road, but doubt it.
