hey, all you guys who have multiple colored body panels (see: 'JDM TYTE' SYLVIA CONVERSIONS) and are looking to get your car all one color for cheap. spray paint comes in more than two colors, not just flat black or grey; just because SCC did it doesn't mean you need to as well.

one of my friends car; rattle can SPL:

Its not bad.But can you get it done in 15 hours with new coilovers, seats, rollbar and some other goodies?

Probably not... maybe a good matte white would be cool.

My guess is that it's a Snoopy.

Anyways, speaking of rattle can paint jobs, guess what I'm doing? Yup, spray painting my bumpers. The previous owners treated the car like crap, so the way I see it is even if I botch up the paint job, its still an improvement. And no its not going to be any of that flat black nonsense. I'm keeping it stock Nissan cherry red pearl.

That's a very nice rattle can job. Does it look that clean 1-3 ft away?

Most spray can jobs I've seen in the area (everything from 240's to Hondas, Mitsubishi's, and a host of older cars) are very blotchy and uneven.

That blue one is super nice, better than Maaco .

thats because the guys who are doing it dont have any science or art to painting their car...they just grab the part and spray it all over like an idiot.

Its funny that Ryan brought it up, but the recent SCC issue explains most of the tricks to doing a good can job, lots of light coats and make sure you warm up the cans and follow the lines of the object you are painting.

Do you have a link to the SCC article w/ it? Everyone keeps telling me to go to the site and I can find the silvia project car and overview, but I can never get/find the article that goes into depth about the can job.

That looks fantastic, is there any kind of clear coat or sealant over top of that? It looks super shiny.

Dave (2BN_S13), we need to do THAT to your car, looks like Impact Blue. The only downside that I can see to all this spraycan painting is that we have to re-paint the thing all the time, which sux.

Haha, me and my freind hang stuff from the tow hook too. It's Luigi. But he got stolen some time ago. Then, replaced it with a Hello Kitty till it fell of or something. Oh well. We got the idea from seeing one of the Falken 180's at a Drift Event about a year ago. They were hanging a Spongebob. But the paint job looks pretty good. Iv'e seen some 240's around here with real paint jobs that look worse then that.

The article re: the spray job isnt a part of the silvia project. It's a WRX project that they are working on.
