WOW!

Just finished the black car!!!

New blues, rear "a" stablizer, 17rims and PS2s. Its a new car!!!

These tires are soo quiet its spooky. I did the 01 Q five spoke sport rims--it a good look for this car. To my eyes this cars needs a little "facial surface" in the wheels. But the spoke look is cool too.

I took it out on some local twisties (its in the 40s) and the PS2s are like glue. I don't want to push them in lower temps.

Just need a FSTB and I'll be in Q NIRVANA.

God d a m n, love these cars!!!

fat and happy for at least five minutes,Peter

Yes they are. I had a lot of hesitation going to a 40 aspect tire on an 18" wheel, but now the only thing I notice is a slightly harsher impact on serious road irregualrities. And they are incredible in the rain. And the fact I haven't found their limits, yet.

Wish my XGTH on the G50s weren't wearing so well. PS2 are wearing far better than expected also.

Hope you did all the new rubber for the suspension too.

I love my PS2's, but they suck the big one once the temps fall below 45 or so around here.Absolutely worthless if it sleets or snows.Had to revert back to the piepans last week, ughhhh.

I need to move to a warmer locale.

Glad your enjoying the ride!

Anything but a tracked vehicle is worthless in snow.

What's a PS2?

Everyone around me is getting me nervous about driving my Q in the snow. I keep getting told to keep sandbags in the trunk for added traction and weight? Is that advisable?

A PS2 is a Michelin summer tire--perhaps the best tire made.

We haven't had any snow yet!!!

They say 1 to 2 tomorrow morn for us PA/NJ guys

Make sure you have good tread on a winter or all season tire and take it EASY on the gas pedel...

be "one" with the snow.

I thinks the cars are not all that bad in the snow. Remember that dump we had four years ago... I was plowed in and got the Q a running start and it blasted through the snow bank and was fine on Rt30. in two inches...as long as I did not over do it. You must drive like a Sr. citizen---that the golden rule!

Have you guys heard of Hankook tires? The guy at the local place said they were made by Michelin and just as good w/o the price tag.

I put a set on my QX4, but the wifey drives it most of the time. I've driven them around on the town streets, but on on the highway. So far I'm really pleased with them. I got P155R17 for the QX4 all the way around for $457.

Now about that rear sway...

They are a Korean tire company (Michelin involvement unknown, but I suspect it is zero).

New, their tires have gotten good reviews. No one reviews tires at 10K, 15K or 20K miles.

Hankoooooooooooooook is South Korea largest tire company

http://www.tirereview.com/Defa...=4165

Download the Tire Review Industry Data Survey, you will see both Kumho and Hankook at right at the top .......TOP of dealer profitability

Guess which brand is the least profitable for dealers---- Michelin, yet which company actually loses money Michelin........they spend too much on R&D and materials. They give you entirely too much for your money.

actually the hankook Rs-Z212's are one of the best performance tires on the market right now.......

Then again they are made for straight up performance (as close to a race tire as you cna get)...

Peterofdevon how do u like ur tokico blues?? Before i replaced mine, my car was floating like a plane.. So i replaced the struts (all 4) 650$) :-( Now im riding and it rides stiffer... and alot better i think BUT now i feel like im riding with cheap hydralics on my car.. It sometimes feels like im driving a 18wheeler.... It has nothing to do with engine, when i stop.. no shaking.. but start rollling at 15 or more miles per hr, fringgin thing is shaking..Pure example.. fill up a glass of water, get a a smooth road.. drive at 45mph, the top layer of water would have spilled a lil bit. I rather it the way it was before i changed the blues... it was more softer.. and rode smooth.. Now im about to catch a shaking syndrome...

BTW: sry to bust ur thread but i seen u talking about blues and figured i might ask while u were on the subject. ,... No disrespect meant!

Why people wait until winter to change shocks? Asking to be abused.

MAY MAY MAY when it is warm, then by Winter they are broken in properly.

If it bothers you so much why not swap them out for oem and save them for a summer installation.

Dennis,

In my case, just got my 94Q 10 days ago. One of the leg is aching and need to replaced it ASAP. But good point though.

well my bad.. i didnt wanna fek up something.. Every time i went up and down on a hump, when i came down i would hear a slam because the car would go up and slam down. I thought i would mess up something eventually so i felt the need to immediately change it. I got it installed in November and been ridin on it thinking it would stop, but meh, im feeling verry irritated. Im thinking and hoping the guy did proper work because he is the only guy i know in houston area who knows anythign about a G50 model. And i dont wanna take chances on anyone else unless they are registered on NiCO. Meh ah well. enuf of my ranting... Thanx.. now i know. Is there anything i should look at that may cause that tho?? Anything that may have not beeen installed taht can cause it.. or is that just the way it is?

What's up with this winter shock business! Romeo5K, did you have the mounts done too? I read here and elsewhere that bad mounts are the b iggest cause of "smacking" or a bottoming out sensation over bumps and humps---Q45tech, isn't this common?

My car rides puuurfect! From my past two winters experience, Tokiko blues give a firmer ride in the winter. I really like their firmness.

I couldn't wait till May/June the car was riding like a Lincoln!

Give me a firm ride or give me death!

Lived in Edinburgh, Scotland for four years before global warming. One (and only one) day it got to 72° F and the farmers were convinced all their crops would succumb to the drought.

Lived in Cheyenne WY when I was real young for a couple of years when the snow would be over my head. 16 years in Seattle really doesn't qualify as it is usually (but not always) mild.

Why do you think I moved back to Austin?

ok.......global warming.t? in new jersey we have a breaking record since 189....something that it has'nt snow for some time.......enough of this...

and PETE sorry for crashing in on your thread.........so wes, can you give detailed info on updgrading suspension....i am planning to do it in 2 mo. i already have RSB/FSB, eibachs, that's it for now. I am planning to buy:1.) Tokiko (from joe-- does it include boot assbly with strut mount or i can still use the old one's--i have 2 new strut mount for the front and i guess rear is still ok) ;

2.) spl adj link (since it's $200 for stock)------- do i need these or take the Z32's -- they have the same amount/cost from joe

3.) do i need an adj tension rod? what brand would you highly recommend? Z32's?

4.) correct sizing for the bushings? i am confused on the sizing on your q45.org. there's no need for adj link/tension rod, right?

5.) do i have to change the 3rd link?

6.) what else i'm missing?

thanks in advance........

PETE sorry again......i'll make a new thread.........

Finally installed the Tokico blues with new mounts, boots and upper control arms. What a difference in ride. The original bouncy ride is now history. My Q is still wearing the original 15" pie pan rims. The ride is not firm at all, to me it's comfortable. I mucho likey.

I plan to change the rims next time. Time to fcous now in cleaning up the MAF.

Can anybody help me figure out what is wrong with my 97y33

The front left driver side is making like a clunk clunk and squeaking sound whenever I hit a bump or pot hole and it feals like the shocks/struts? are not as good as they should be its got a kind of ruff bumpy ride on snow or semi ruff road

with inspection of the springs they look brand new down to the markings on them

Then again I dont know leftfromright when it come's to the suspension on the Y33 I just purchased it not to long ago. 97nonT w/9x,xxx(if that helps)

My main goal is figuring out whata making the clunk/squeak noise before I have to pay $90.00 just to know what's making it
