So I drove the junker Q to a part-time job today, got half way downtown and noticed that ABS and Brake light illuminated. Didn't have any pedal sponginess, brakes were fine with deceleration and no noise. Then I made a lane change and as soon as I turned the wheel, it tugged back. Not a continuous tug but very short bursts of opposite force. And as that happened the HICAS light would flash. There is no belt squeal, all my belts are less than 10months old, fluid levels for both brake and PS are near full level and fresh. The steering rack was replaced 8months ago, with OEM. All the lines are leak free, also.I have replaced the A/C compressor pulley with texasoil pulley bearings. I don't believe that tonights issue would be caused by pulley and/or bearing failure due to the fact that the belt has tension and will turn the pulley.

Am I looking at P/S Pump failure? Would that cause the ABS and BRAKE lights on dash display to illuminate?

EDIT:Oh also that text message "LOW BATTERY CHARGE" appears though the battery is strong and almost original CCA's.

check your connections on the batt and you alternator. My old Lincoln continental did that with the airbag and abs light the Q might not be too different. the batt could be bad dont trust it too much. my piece of the pie.

Check your alternaor belt tensioner, and if that is fine, check your alternator with a scope.
