I used to work with a guy who had a Prius - he liked it, but told me that, real-world, it only got about 30 mpg. My ten-year-old Saturn with almost 102,000 miles gets about 32. We also have a 2007 Escape hybrid at work that manages about 22 mpg. My non-hybrid Rogue averages 24.
I'm not saying hybrid technology is bad, but from what I'm seeing, it just isn't worth the premium price for a hybrid based on the real-world gas mileage. Not to mention some of the idiots driving them. She makes all of us nice, easygoing tree-hugging types look bad.
