Ok guys, I know this is a common question but unfortunately it still remains unanswered.

I’ve been to all the websites and I’ve searched extensively but I still can’t seem to find any real solid info on tunes for the KA24E-T motor. I’ve found do it yourself info on ROM burning and programs such as RomEdit but nothing definitive.

Does anybody out there have or know where to get a tested, proven ECU tune for a reasonable price? Or, can anybody recommend ROM burning software that is known for a fact to be %100 reliable? i.e. you have a turbo setup and dyno proof.

If you have a tune that you know for a fact works with a modest turbo application – say 7-14lbs, please help a brother out.

i might be chipping some ecus this winter, if you go through jim wolf i think they just run a basemap and you have to use an afc to fine tune it. its unlikely you will find a setup that will just work, you will be best off running a program that you can tune your ecu with while its in the car.

Do you know of a program that is proven safe and effective? I've heard talk of people using Live Edit but never heard anybody say they did it firsthand.

your the same guy that was on the kat.org forums and they pretty much answered your questions there.

rom editor will work fine as will live edit you just have to learn to use them, both tools have been used numerous times by people all over the world with success in eprom tuning of there ka's sr's and others.

so to answer your question rom edit will work just fine all you need is a stock bin of the ka24e and a address file and your set , you will also need a eprom burner to flash the chips.

i have both the ka24e stock bin and adr file if you want let me know ill send it to you, also the most important thing is to understand what the numbers mean once you see them in rom edit because once you understand them then you will know what to do with them. so when you are at that stage take some screen shots and post on here or the ka-t forums to see what we can help you with.

there is no step by step exact write up on how to tune your ecu its something that we just learn with experience.

Thank you. I'd appreciate if you would post those files. Am I correct in assuming that you have used these to tune your ecu?

Anyway, I've been looking at those programs with some N/A tunes that some guys posted. I understand basically what needs to be done but I can't seem to figure out how to use the software. For example, I open "high octane fuel map." Across the top there are number +0 to +F which are hex values but for what? What does this top row denote? The column to the left shows 0C00 to 0CF0 - once again, I know this is hex but what do these values denote? Essentially, what are the x & y axis representing?

To the right there is a scale titled RPMs. This contains some more mystery data 60 - 600. What do I do with this? Below is a chart with a title Boost with 0490 beneath it and other data - what does this tell me? I'd upload the screen if I knew how. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
