I assume bfournier is talking about ebay? I bid on a few M's on there a couple of weeks ago. In fact, the M35x I bought last week was listed on ebay but didn't meet the reserve, so I contacted the dealer and negotiated over the phone after the auction had ended for the car.palincal wrote:Congrats and welcome.
Just curious to know how you participate in these auctions? Is it open to public or need an inside connection? Is it an infiniti auction?
Yeah, I drove my baby home from Sheridan, WY to Wenatchee, WA; about the same mileage. I loved it but she was wearing her original OEM Goodyear RSA rubber and it was a literal wrestling match as she often twisted and turned and did not want to be tamed by the new rider.bfournier wrote:yeah..it was ebay. There are some real good deals out there. Cant wait ot get it. I will 1100 miles of fun as I am driving it back from Chicago to Portland, ME.
Nice color combo! Congratulations & welcome!bfournier wrote:Just won auction for 2006 M35x Black/bourbon 45k miles for $20,900. Nav and Tech packages. Happy I didnt get the mercedes E500 after reading the consumer reports. Now just need to get to chicago to pick it up.
Yeah.....I totally agree. I have to wrestle with my 07' M45's OEM GDY RS-A's quite a bit under speeds of 60mph. Speeds above that seem to be relatively tame for the most part. I don't mind wrestling with her though......it gets kind of kinky every once in a while!!antzrus wrote:

Well, I learned first hand about tramlining. Read about it. If she's got the RSA's on, be prepared!!!
It's such a shame on such a nice car as a "M" to put RSA's on. I threw on some PS2's and totally transformed the "M" into a exceptional handling Lux car. I highly recommend!M4T5 wrote:

An excellent choice!07sportm35 wrote:I threw on some PS2's and totally transformed the "M" into a exceptional handling Lux car. I highly recommend!
The only downside to these is they cannot be cross rotated and they may experience cupping even with a very small amount of toe or camber. The PS2s are more of a performance tire than a touring tire and some of the people do not like these on the 06+ Ms. I like either the new designed Bridgestone Potenza RE050s, The Pirelli PZero Rossa. My overall best pic for the M based on the many that I see and the owners I talk to in RL is the Yokohama Advan, these are available for the 18" and 19".07sportm35 wrote:

I am wracking my brain trying to think of any Ms that have had these tires. At this time I'm drawing a blank. Although I have to admit I am a brand snob when it comes to tires, personally all of my cars have always worn Goodyears (however nothing made overseas). The Sumitumos may very well be a great tire for this car.jedgington wrote:Hey Steve - have any feedback from RL on Sumitomo HTR Z III? They seem positively reviewed online (better than the Advan Sport in TireRack's tests)
Misalignment will screw any tire. These never cupped on my FGY33 in 24K miles.SteveTheTech wrote:

Ah, Steve, you are stuck in the new century Q45. You need to ride in some of the old ones.SteveTheTech wrote:The primary reason I suggest a new thread is the M guys here are having some trambling issues not seen with the cloudlike riding Q.
You sound extremely knowlegable "MAXNIX". You beat me in pointing out the fact that PS2's can be rotated in any fashion(non-directional). At 33PSI the ride quality is actually pretty nice-especially considering the performance.maxnix wrote:Misalignment will screw any tire. These never cupped on my FGY33 in 24K miles.
Not only are they quiet, they provide great ride while also providing incredible wet and dry performance in braking and cornering. They are asymetrical, so no conventional rotating. I view flipping as part of best rotation maintanence anyways.
An interesting exercise is to compare the weight and load rating size for size with other premium tires. Without a doubt, the PS2 is in a league of its own. Way above the PS.
In my line of work you NEED to be on the newest century in order to stay marketable, as there is now an influx of unemployed technicians that are looking to take hours from my check.maxnix wrote:Ah, Steve, you are stuck in the new century Q45. You need to ride in some of the old ones.
