Car: 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe 2.5S

Post

So last week I went out and picked up a 2008 Altima Coupe 2.5S

My wife and I had been looking for something small and sporty since kids aren't in the pic for 3-4 years, and we were tired of the gas mileage I was getting on an '02 Chevy Blazer with 110k miles.

We were looking at the G6 but it just lacked that look...she liked the Charger but I think that is an old man car...we both liked the Scion TC but can you say "Stock = Chincy". They are neat when you drop 10Gs...but why not just get the $30k car to start? Well, a drive across the Nissan lot showed us the way, and 2 weeks later with a ton of internet time, we found a used one with 15k miles and every option we wanted.

So far, I am very happy with the car, it drives SO much better then the Blazer, and getting a 6'4'' frame in and out isn't that bad.

Anyway, EVERY search I did for information lead me to this site, so I felt I had to join because you guys new EVERYTHING or so it seems. I am decent with the mechanics of a car but no grease monkey (can do oil, brakes, blinker fluid )...but, for anyone that has gotten through my story...if you could drop a couple suggestions for the biggest BANG per buck Mods, that would be awesome! Nothing that would hurt the warrenty yet though, I am not ready for that.

First plan, is aftermarket rims/tires.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome Curt!(kids arent in the pic for 3-4 years... Bc you didnt have any yet? or you sent them away! lol)

Im a big fan of the Eibach pro-kit springs in conjunction with the stillen rear sway bar and one of the front strut tower braces (i have a racingline one).

Interested in performance or style?

Haha, no...didn't send any away, there are non to send away. The Mrs. wants to finish Grad School before there are kids; I just like the extra money that comes without having kids, plus they would take away my Xbox time!

As for Performance vs. Style, I am leaning more to style, but that is a problem with a shared car...we both have to agree on the look. I haven't found it yet...but I was thinking of getting the 3.5SE side mirrors for that turn signal look, but don't know if the wires get close / how much work that would be. We both like the Stillin front fescia, so that will probably be second after rims.

EDIT: I did find this: http://forums.altimas.org/zero...02276

Rims, drop, and then overlays and/or eyelids would look nice with the fascia

Rob, your MOD list in your signature, it doesn't work. It is a link to edit your post, where that would only work for you. I will send this in a PM also because I doubt you will check back on this a ton.

Hey Congrats on the new Coupe!!I had to have my car shipped in from Columbus last year because I couldn't find a 6speed 2.5 around Chicago.

My mod list would be:1. wheels\tires2. springs to drop the profile and firm the cornering3. keep it really clean. (car already looks great - and it won't cost anything)

Welcome to a great group!

welcome to the club! you seem like a nice guy!

about the mods, for performance the best would be a Rear sway bar upgrade. if you have a manual transmission car the you owe it to yourself to get a short shift kit with a counter weighted knob.

for looks i'd say some nice rims, fogs, mirrors, maybe a front lip, there are 3, stillen one, razi one and the AIT/Extreme-dimention one.

maybe a rear spoiler if you want (not my thing though)http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread/301035

the eibach drop is always a nice upgrade but you can go lower with H&R springs or even more with Sprint springs.

there are some coilovers but those are a little more in the advanced mods category I think.

some nice mods could be dual tone leather interior http://forums.altimas.org/zerothread?id=400197

I see that you wrote that your first mods will be rims and tires, I just want to warn you that the bigger you go (while keeping the stock overall tires and rim diameter) the harsher the ride will be.

Tint.

I think that's the biggest bang for the buck. Changes the look of the car a lot and is relatively cheap.

Next mod from there would be the eibach springs.

Welcome to the board.

Welcome to the forum man, i would suggest for looks and performance to lower it first with the Eibach springs, on ebay for only 205 bucks, thats a steal. Then definetly get fogs cause you now it looks amazing with them not to mention there needed to see lol, then if you want to go with performance i would suggest an intake and/or exhaust. or if your going with style front lip or fascia both from stillen.
