My old Saturn isn't cutting it anymore, and I can finally afford full coverage insurance so I just financed an '08 Versa SL hatchback that was for sale at the dealership where I work (I'm there as a service tech). Because of this, they were able to take around $2000 off the original price so I think I got a pretty good deal. It had 9,938 miles when I bought it. That being said, it's in mint condition. The original owner had bought it from the Nissan dealership down the street, had it as a 3rd car for a year or so, then traded it in for a new Camaro. Works for me! I've been getting 28-32mpg so far, which is very acceptable in my opinion.

It's really nice having a reliable car for a change. I'll have to get some pictures once I transfer my regular plates over to the Versa. I keep being told that the thing has rims off the Sentra SE-R, some research shows that it's indeed the case. While they look nice, the tires on them are awful for the New Hampshire winters so I'm in the market for some OEM steel wheels so I can mount/balance some studded snows on there.

Congrats on the purchase! It's always nice to hear other people who are in love with their Versa.

Do you have the rims that are on the Sentra in the following pic? That is a picture of my Versa, and my brothers 09 Sentra SE-R. If they are the same as yours, than yes, you have Sentra rims!

different shade of red on the SE-R?

the gap on the SER is just as bad as on the versa, yet it is a sport model...weird

Tell your brother to paint the calipers

I'll post up some pictures next time the weather's decent.

As for the rims, they aren't the ones in the above picture. They're the ones off the older model SE-R.

Here's a picture of the car that I took with my phone before I bought it.

Nope, exact same shade of red. They are both "Matador Red" Nissans :D

And he doesn't want to paint the calipers. He said he likes them as is.

Well, he already has a girlfriend.

And he is not one to really care what others think, or who likes it ...

But we are not Tiger Woods, and are nothing like him.

I just took good pictures and wrote a bit. It repeats a bit of what I already wrote but I'm posting this elsewhere too.

I finally had it with the Saturn, too many problems coming all at once. So, I just sold that for $750. I'm finally at the age where I can afford full coverage insurance so I decided to get a newer car. I was looking at some of the newer Imprezas but insurance on those is still far too expensive for me. However, this barely-used Nissan Versa SL showed up at my old job so I figured it was worth a look. Since I bought it while I was still working there, they were able to take a good $2000 off the price.

It only had a little under 10,000 miles on it, an older gentleman (who I have since spoken with since he accidentally left his checkbook in the owner's manual!) had bought it from the nearby Nissan dealer as 2nd or 3rd car. When he bought it, he had the rims upgraded to those off a Sentra SE-R, which I did not realize until after I bought it! Needless to say those tires on them are awful in the snow - I have some OEM steel wheels on the way on which I will mount some studded snow tires.

It's not the Impreza that I had my sights set on, but it's still a great car none the less. It's the only car in it's class (Fit, the Chevrolet "Avaewoo", Versa, Scion, etc) equipped with a six-speed as standard equipment, which is pretty neat. In my opinion, it isn't a bad little car at all and it will definitely be dependable. (Note: I'm posting this elsewhere so I know that you guys here know some of that already!)

I have been driving it for a few weeks now and other than those tires not doing very well in the snow, it's been a great time.

Agreed. Would those SE-R wheels fit the S(1.6) sedan?

From the interior pics it looks as though you have an "S" model hatchback.
