Well, my poor old '94 240sx Vert got totaled last Saturday, I'm not afraid to admit I shed a tear when I saw it at the towing yard without a back end And staying loyal to the brand, I limited my search to later model s13, s14, and 300zx's, but I found this and couldn't pass it up. May not be RWD, but it sure as hell compensates for it with the 6 Speed Transmission with H-LSD, exceptionally good handling, and amazing gas mileage.

First off, I have a few questions. Did ALL Spec V's come with the enhanced stereo and 6 disk changer? I ask this because ether I'm dumb and have no idea how to load the CDs, or mine doesn't have the 6 disk changer. Next question is what kind of engine mods am I looking at for a nice 20-30 hp boost. And finally, what kind of problems should I look out for? Any kind of recalls I should look out for?

Thanks ahead of time guys. I'll have some pics up soon.

(Ignore the last part of the last question, found an entire thread sticked about it, Derp-Da-Durr.)

Not all Specs came with upgraded audio, to my knowledge.

For mods, do I/H/E and make sure to get a nice big resonator and you'll have a livable, but much peppier Spec.

I have the fanatic package on my Spec and that doesn't include a 6 disc changer. Just a 300watt system w/subwoofer, sunroof and rear driver side folding seat.

There is a sticky on TSB's and recalls for the Spec V.

Yeah not all Spec Vs came with the audio package. It was an option which I opted out of when I got mine (I bought a Spec V base model with no audio package, sunroof, or ABS).

As for an easy 20 hp if you do I/H/E you should be close to around that gain and it will be a more lively car than a stock one. Most stock Spec Vs dyno at around 141whp and with the I/H/E you should be in the 160s range and if you add cams on top of that you should be looking at about 170whp.

Nice purchase. I/H/E would definitely wake it up and with those mods it feels like a totally different car then stock.

Thanks guys, I'll start pricing the mods soon. One more question though, I've been browsing around and found that alot of people have horror stories about sound system modification. Since it seems that I don't have the uber sound system, I would like to look into upgrading it myself. I can't stand regular CDs, miss my old 130 song MP3 CDs.

So far, I've gathered that the current sound system has external amps for the speakers, which would require that the wiring under the dash be completely redone. Secondly, anyone know the size and location of all the speakers, both the stock and Rockford Fosgate systems? Just trying to find out what I'm looking at here.

Thanks ahead of time!

Ok, turns out I DO have the premium sound package, didn't notice the 8 inch sub in the back (once again, Durp-da-Durr). But it seems like one or two of the front speakers are blown, the guy had the fade twords the front, so that may explain why.

Like I asked before, what am I looking at doing if I want to swap out the head unit?

Albeit I didn't have the premium sound system in mine however it should really differ in your opposed to mine.

You shuld just have to buy a Metra Mounting kit, wiring harness kit, and an antenna adapter. the all you really need to do is hook it all up which is pretty easy cause you just match up the colors with each other and follow the guide that comes with the wiring harness kit and your aftermarket deck just to make sure they match up correctly (the colors are generally the same or really close).
