Pretty interesting write-up.

I would think it would take more than 350hp to spin the wheels in the frontier while they are already loaded... I'd love to see a dyno graph.

You mean lb ft of torque, right? Diesels make that torque not far off idle, unlike a gas engine truck. I have a Cummins powered Ram 2500 quad cab 4x4 that box stock with the 5.9 will shred tires if stand on it. Granted that's with over 500lb ft, but it's also a 7000lb truck too.

It's about time. Nissan had a great diesel in the 2.5 in the D22 Navarras that I truly wish could have seen the light of day in this country. I'd own one if they were available. As for the 2005+ models, I truly hope they put some real axles under these again rather than the paltry D44 rear and the even worse aluminum R180 up front that's notorious for grenading in even modest off road situations.

It's also too bad that GM will beat them to market with the Canyon / Colorado. Those are good looking trucks. Nissan is hell bent on making their truck line look like cars with the next gen Frontier. The Pathfinder, while I know it's not the same platform any longer, is a fricking travesty.

The way the article was written, it makes it sound like they selected a bigass turbo that doesn't really hit until later in the RPMs. But yeah, I meant torque, not hp
