I've driven every year Rogue since it came out (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 is what I drive currently) and I have a 2015 on order as I lease it on 1 year terms. Both the 2014's I've had and the 2015 on order are SV grades in order to get ikey, roof rails, privacy glass and so on.
The 2nd gen SV grade is nice. Ride is good and reasonably quiet for its class, engine and CVT transmission work reasonably well and I don't mind the D-shift logic that kicks in under medium+ acceleration with simulated shifts. Interior quality is great with a lot of soft touch where it counts, a very nice and easy to use instrument cluster that's intuitive (not saddled with more complicated navigation or active safety systems like blind spot, lane departure, etc). I think the Rogue and the CX-5 are the most stylish of the pack but the CX-5 is smaller than the Rogue.
Compared to the 1st gen, everything is a step up.
I think the best thing to do is to test drive one and go with your gut. When you compare it with the other crossovers that are similarly grade-equipped to the SV, I think you'll find the Rogue will near the top, if not at the top, of your list. I don't say that because I'm biased and a Rogue fanboy, I say that because I have a lot of experience with the Rogue and have also driven the CX-5, the CR-V, the Forester, Escape and find I like the Rogue the best.
