I've seen worse throws, but I would agree. It needs to be shorter. I'll probably be ordering my STS this weekend. I've got a heavier shift knob that should probably be delivered on monday coming too. Everyone who has swapped out the knob says it makes a huge difference, and I don't doubt it. I would probably recommend grabbing one of these as well (shouldn't run you much more than about $50 for most that I've seen). Just make sure it works with the reverse lock out (there's a thread about it here).SHIFT_confucius wrote:spend? yeah...this week I did the Raceline STS intall. Nice improvement over the looooong throw.
Chi - way west; St. Charles (like just short of the corn fields)
When aren't we nice? And you've got some old friends. Looks like he's about 60 years older than you.audtatious wrote:Gentlemen, this is a buddy of mine so I expect you to be nice.

Let me know how you like the heavier shifter. The STS with stock knob isn't bad...but I'm always interested in improving.
Man, that is pretty much out in the sticks. I've been out there a couple times, but not since I've gotten my coupe. I think I swam out that way once or twice when I was in high school.
I'm an old soul.AppleBonker wrote:

No kidding - As far as Fridays, it has changed my life. I used to run from I-80, up Route 45 to get home...a nightmare! Like 2 hours! Now I love that stretch.AppleBonker wrote:I love the new 355 extension (not sure if you ever head that far south). It's pretty much wide open and nice flat pavement. That's the only place I've tested the top speed of my coupe (the wide open part helps hawk-eye cops in the distance). It was pretty dumb, but I only did it once.
A couple of times a week I run out to clients in Frankfort & South Joliet...hence the way long commute.AppleBonker wrote:Man, that's a commute. Do you work somewhere around Tinley or something? That shaves a whole bunch of time. It cut my drive time from the Darien/Hinsdale area to New Lenox in half. I can't imagine 2 hours on a regular basis.

Actually, they have canceled all travel for now due to the economy or I would have been up there last week.
