proper way to remove front wheel bearing cap? 89 240sx

Anyone know the "right way" to remove that wheel bearing cap? I will probably just resort to punching/drilling a hole into it and prying it off (basically destroying it). Is there a better way to do this?

screwdriver and a rubber mallet, work around it and it should come off without too much drama
