so ive had my s13 for awhile now and ive done various suspension mods to it

here is a list of some of the things i have done that is probably important to this post: Tein HE coilovers, front tension rods, rear upper control arms, rear traction rods, rear toe rods...

now im sitting on some 16x8 wheels with a 205-45 on them and since i do...i have it lowered as low as i possibly can without drooping or compressing the springs to make it look ok

I KNOW this is too low for proper operation of the suspension, as well as running into problems such as bottoming out (horrible to DD), and just recently at a skid pad event i bent a tie rod bottoming out...

now im completely over trying to have my car look cool and i want the proper set up, this is the info i need from you all:

just let me know how you got your car set up or the proper way to have a s13 set up (pictures or however you want to try to help me out), i would like my car to put out greater cornering performance then the way to low suspension with the lowest possible center of gravity, i plan on running wider tires with a lower sidewall to help flush out the look of the car and improve grip

the set up is for drift and good balance and minimal roll is KEY!

got lifetime alignments so id like to get the car set up properly, change the tie rods to some thicker ones and ones that are meant for lowered cars, and take it to get aligned

i also got a suggestion of switching to s14 lower control arms and that would help fix the geometry from the lowered car

lookin for advice from people who have drifted for awhile and can offer good advice,

thanks all

Driftworks makes some aftermarket knuckles that raises the hub mounting point.

That way you can keep proper suspension geometry and still be low.

yeah a friend of mine was telling me about those, like 250 or something like that i vaguely remember, was thinking about going PBM angle kit that lowers where the tie rod mounts to the spindle as well

yeah but its just way to low at the moment, not just for the tie rods, but i believe since its so low the arms are angled upwards, part of the problem is the 16's lower me more then id like, id preffer 17s to keep me looking low and the suspension the same but be that 1/2" higher off the ground to help keep me from bottoming out

The PBM steering angle kit is nice because it helps the position of the tierod, but it does nothing for the lower control arm.

So far, Driftworks knuckles were the best thing for correcting suspension geometry on a low car.

I believe you could get PBM angle kit, and SPL adjustable front lower control arm, and your front suspension should be sorted out.

The rear however, you can buy new balljoints that adjust the rear lower control arm, but the rest of the suspension arms are still in a bad spot.

oh yeah, sweet i think ill definately look into the driftworks knuckles to sort the front like you say, the rear is all adjustable pillowball except for the lower control arms which i want to eventually replace,

i think thats just about the most i can do seing as lower control arms and spindles would be almost a complete replacement of my entire suspension

Also, look into PBM's aluminum subframe bushings. They raise your subframe up a bit and helps with your rear suspension.

Read Bumnah's build thread, he has posted a lot of suspension information. I also believe he has posted his setup, but I'm not sure.
