I just bought some used 17" 5Zigen FNO1R-C wheels for my '90 Z32TT. they currently have Dunlop Direzza DZ101 225/45's on them. The car has Eibach lowering springs bringing it down 0.8" - 1.0". I like the way the fronts look now, but I am partial to the staggered look. what tire size could I get away with mounting on the rear 17's? I am looking to fill up some more of the fender well in width and height without getting into a weird high sidewall. can I get some opinions about what tire size would look proper? Thanks.

9 wide. I dunno the offset, but they clear the brake calipers.

275/35/17 is ideal, but an impossible size to find. Would fit fine, but depends on the off set. They're probably the +35mm version, so you have no problem with that size. Do it in all four corners for the best handling and tire life. Staggered set ups only work if the front and rear wheels are different widths. Running different size tires f+r on the same width wheels is stupid.

265/40/17 is more available, and there are some great tires in that size.

265 is pushing it on a 9" 245 or 255 would be a better fit

265 is fine (but definitely the upper end) for 9" wheel, I run 255 on my 8.5" fronts

255 will feel much crisper then a 265 or 275. Better turn in, feedback, etc.
