As the topic states, I was wondering what the proper offset for 17x9" wheels for an s13 would be. ( rear ). I know 17x8's run offests of about 35. Is there even a wheel that fits the 4 bolt pattern 17x9?

Is anyone running this setup, or know anyone that is?

If you are, do you run into any problems running this setup?

BTW, yes i tried the search, and went through every thread with "17x9" in it and then some. :)

We've never done anything in a 9" so I can't say what will work or what's even available out there.

doh, how about 18x9"? I recall reading a thread with a wheel that came in 18x9", but I remember not liking the style of the wheel.

A 17x9 rim can fit in the rear. Proof of this is Mattback's wheels (which look very nice might I add, especially on estevan's tv2 s13). There was a thread a while ago that has pics. He had 17x8 front/17x9 rear (with a 255 tire) black racing wheels with a 5x114.3 pcd. I am not sure of the offset required, but his setup is very nice as both wheels fill up the front and rear fenders.

Yeah, I actually posted in that thread :). If I recall, he had a 5 lug conversion though, does that help at all with trying to fit a 17x9 wheel out back? Does 5Zigen even offer that size in a 4 bolt pattern .. doh!

If you find a wheel with the correct offset, then whether you have 5 or 4 lug does not matter (if thats what you are asking). The thing is, the majority of rwd cars are 5 lug, so finding a 5 lug wheel with the proper offset will be easier, cheaper, and you will have a wider variety to chose from. Most of the 17x9, 4 lug wheels are made by big name japanese companies so expect to pay a lot. You can also go with companies who do a lot of custom jobs like HRE and (I think) Kinesis.
