i had a whiny buzzy fuel pump, which by reading these boards seemed to signal the impending demise of the pump. i ordered the new pump from joe, had my mechanic install it, and the whiny buzzy bit is gone, but if i stick my head in the trunk (divider not yet installed, so i'm right there at the tank/pump), the new one makes a ticking sound. can't hear the new one from inside the cabin--definitely could hear it with the old pump. is this new 'ticking' sound normal? thanks.

I posted on that too way back when I first replaced my pump. It seems the ticking goes away after a bit, I don't even remember how long it took, just kind of vanished unconsiously to me. Just needs to break in I guess.
