Hi my name is Eric and i have been on here since 07-08 but mainly on the 240 section, well ive somewhat outgrown them and have always wanted a Q.......so fast forward to 2011 and i drove 3 hours to buy my first Q.what i bough was a pearl colored 95 q45.this car was in such horrible shape the transmission had 1 gear brakes were pretty much useless interior was dirty/stained and just in overall bad shape.

i got the car home and immediately started maintenece lol
so far i have replaced
z32 fuel filter
valve cover gaskets
cleaned egr and tb
oil change
new plugs
transmission wise-if most of you recall i had a thread earlier on about the transmission issue and by process of elimination and alot of swearing i found out what was wrong with it lol.shift solenoid A
so i ordered new solenoids and in the process of removing the solenoids the old gasket between the valvebody disentigrated so i ordered the gaskets new as well.one month later after the parts arrive i set everything down on a nice clean table and start tearing the vb apart :gapteeth: wow i have never seen that many bolts per square inch in my life lol.needless to say i managed to put the vb back together and threw it back on the q.i was so exited on her maiden voyage and guess what??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

the Q runs beautifully :naughty: shifts great
by this time the transmission had gotten alot of attention
i had replaced the vb gaskets
shift solenoids
o rings for solenoids
transmission filter
fluid drained and filled till nothing but red fluid showed
new transmission pan gasket and new fluid with half bottle of lube guard RED

after the q was up and rolling the stock ride height had to go so i searched and searched and came across z32 stuff on a Q.
i quickly serahced local forums for a z and found what i needed.
i ordered new struts and went to town
i still have some tweaking to do in the rear so level it out but tell me what you guys think!!
P.S.-thanks to all who helped me through this :yesnod

now im still on the lookout for a hood and grill, just pieceing this bad boy back together.lots more maintenece needed still

Instead of lowering the rear end more, I would concentrate on raising the front end to match the rear......drastically lowered Q has a nasty habit of bottoming out the oil pan and destroying the engine.

Nothing like some big shiny rims and some camber adjustment to show off the dings paint flaws and rust spots too! Hope your not going that route with this. But anyway GL with it. Love the pearl colored Q's but they always seem dirty

And yes pearl white cars always seem dirty lol

still way too low in front for normal street use without risking damage, even with a "skid plate", there are PLENTY of other things waiting to be destroyed by running that low, not to mention it just looks absolutely silly on a 4 door luxury car......time to lose the 240/civic/hot hatch mentality when you migrate to a full size boat.

You could have a salvage yard do a nationwide search, but shipping on a part that large will kill you! Best to keep checking in with local salvage yards for new inventory, and continue to monitor the parts for sale forum here, along with your local craigslist/backpage/etc type sites. sorry, but thats about the only economical way to get such a large part.

The Q has a muscle car stance-its the tires that give it that effect, even though all four tires are 245-40-18 the rears are slightly taller than the fronts :ohno:

That 240 in one of the pics is my friends-bone stock 1990 pignose with absolutely no rust, plans for that are coilovers and wheels, nothing fancy just a clean reliable DD

I feel my Q has come along way from the time i got it back in october-if i didnt buy it the lady said she was gonna have the JY come pick it up so there ya go-one more Infiniti back on the road

Nice... like the color too...Don't sweat the front height, if it isn't one thing, it's another. Do what YOU like with it! Any plans for SC or turbo?

My springs (Cal. Customs) took about 8-10 mos to "settle", then I had to get camber adjustment for the front and back, or keep fryin' tires.

Make that skid plate thick! Nice looking Q45! I wish mine was that nice! Mine has fully adjustable ball bearing suspension and I have -4 degrees of camber up front and -1.5ish in the rear with Enki RPF1 wheels. I did the 5-speed conversion, and it is nothing like a s13, everything needs to be custom. Unless you are heavy on custom fabrication and welding or know someone who does this and is bored and rich think twice. but it definitely is worth it! My q45 is faster than a 2012 mazdaspeed 3, g35, 350z, 300zxtt at 14psi, Jackson supercharged Miata, Custom turbo miata, Lexus IS-F, 2011 BMW 335is, and a 370z in stock form etc. Mine is also heavily tuned, spent a couple of years on and off dialing it in on a dyno and on the street with wideband and datalog. I can also go from running gasoline to e-85. And if someone is a little faster, i have a 150 shot of nitrous that is throttle actuated! I'm planning a supercharger setup next, I want to see 600hp at least to the wheels. I'm glad you are taking care of your q45, i seriously wish i had a nicer one like yours. I stopped posting all my latest updates and accomplishments because of the huge amount of negative feedback here. Don;t be like me, keep posting. maybe I'll put up some updates soon :)

Maybe I will sell mine, and look for a clean body.
