Hey guys, I'm replacing my transmission in my 93 g50 this weekend and was wondering whats the best way to remove the propellor(drive) shaft. Should I remove the entire thing, or can I slide it off the shaft of the transmission and let it hang down. I don't want to disassemble the center section and have my car vibrating. Also will I have to drop the exhaust? Sorry for the dumb questions, This is my 1st attempt at a q45 trans swap. The one I picked up from the salvage yard looks suprisingly well, I'm going to do a pan drop and flush/filter and gasket like tech said.

youll want to do it in this order.

Undo the bolts on the differential, then undo the nuts on the center bearing.. slide the driveshaft foreward to releaseit from the diff then slide it back and pull it all the way out... you shouldnt have to remove the exhaust.

I was speaking with an Infinity service manager this morning who warned...do not let the shaft hang down. You do not want to put any stress on the rubber.
