In using the https://www.infinitiusa.com/recalls-vin/#/#/Home, I saw there was a recent (Dec 2020) campaign for a propeller shaft recall for my M56.

Anyone done that yet? Anything specific to expect or worry about?

I saw that bulletin also on the Infiniti recall website while I was checking it out after reading the M56/37 transmission/ecm reprogramming thread here. (Subject: SB 2011-2012 M37/M56; Shift Responsiveness Issues Summary of ITB12021)

Prior to contacting the dealer, I checked the online OEM parts store and they show a propeller shaft "fix" that consist of 3-bolts and 3 nuts: https://www.infinitipartsdeal.com/parts ... &filter=()

So thinking it's just swapping out the nuts and bolts, I ordered them to replace myself ($20).

Then out of curiosity last week, I contacted a local dealership (Tacoma, WA) and they told me that the "fix" is to replace the rear section of the propeller shaft for my M56. They said that the part was back ordered and estimated to arrive sometime the week of Feb. 15th and then will schedule a service appointment to swap it out at no cost to me because its a voluntary safety recall. (Subject: CP Rear Propeller Shaft Replacement Summary of ITB20028) 2011-2013 M56, 2012-2013 M35 Hybrid, and 2014 Q70 and Q70 Hybrid.

I got my car scheduled for 2/22/21.
Apparently I'm the first in line for it since notices for this recall haven't been sent out yet.

Lucky you! :dblthumb:

I called the dealer today and they said Infiniti has just released the parts for the campaign but the
propeller shaft they ordered for mine is for a Q50. :wtf2:

Hopefully they get it straightened out. :argh

I can't find the service bulletin online, but I'm going to ask them if I can have a copy for future reference.

You can check here for any service bulletin: https://www.infiniti-techinfo.com/TSB/T ... sbType=TSB It's where I found my info.

Sorry I didn't follow up yesterday but the service rep called me later in the day and stated that they do have my parts after all. I'm scheduled for next Tue. the 16th. I'm going to request that they provide a service history print out also. They are going to check my TCM to see if it had the transmission refresh (B 2011-2012 M37/M56; Shift Responsiveness Issues
Summary of ITB12021). They said if it hasn't been done, it will cost $195 because my car is beyond 70K miles.

I mean the actual that gives you all the new part numbers and install instructions. I'm interested in seeing if they change any of the fastener torque specs.

Oh, my bad. I misunderstood the question but maybe when I go in Tuesday the Tech can share that with me and if so, I'll post up here what they are.

Well I thought they did the repair, but they just kept my car for a day and said the parts are backordered.

I found the recall and service bulletins. They didn't want to give it to me, but the paperwork had the number and google magic produced the info.

The Infiniti service rep called me back today and said he wasn't allowed to give me the recall info, citing internal confidentiality clauses. O well, it's not like those documents are published anywhere on a .gov website.

Okay, my recall was completed last week and I was able to get the service history of my car but they couldn't to tell me anything about the details of the recall other than what's on my invoice below.

When I got home I jacked up the rear of car and had a look. They replaced the entire propeller shaft even though I was under the impression that it would only be the rear section.

Hello, I called my local infiniti tech and he told me that my m35h need this recall. But he was not able to order the parts... He will get back to me asap he said. He says I was the first to ask and that his customers have not been informed yet. But I’m happy that this recall cover french market ;) Thank you everyone.

I called the local dealership on 3/13 about my M35H and was advised the parts weren't available yet so they scheduled me for 3/29 hoping the parts are in. The website FAQs for this recall state that Infiniti will provide a loaner vehicle while waiting for the parts and /or while the parts are being installed so I asked the Service Manager and he said just only if they keep the car overnight... so I called Infiniti America to complain and they confirmed the rental costs will be covered by the Warranty Dept. while you wait for the part = push to be properly serviced.

I had planned on bringing it in and getting a loaner but then 2 days later while going about 70 mph on the interstate during rush hour driving to work the car goes into limp mode 1.5 miles from my office! I checked google and let it "cool off" about 5 times and crept to my office parking lot so AAA could tow it to my mechanic.

His diagnosed is a cracked air intake tube. He order one and 3 days later the box arrived from Infiniti with the correct label but the wrong part inside, told me there was only 1 other part in the US and ordered it through Infiniti and today I was informed the same thing happened, correct label still wrong part.

I was looking to get the recall taken care of because I have decided to leave the Infiniti family, after 5 years of love and hate with my M35H I am done so they Mechanic will tape up with HVAC tape covered by black electrical tape and it will be sold as is ASAP.

Hi everyone, the service for the propeller shaft recall is scheduled for next week. They received the parts yesterday. They will also perform the hybrid module/ecu/trans update for the 2016 recall (I find out they forget to do it). Plus a little 75 000km oil and filtres service. I will let you know. Cheers,

Recalls r1623 and r20b8 have been performed. The car drives as good as before, no changes. Greetings from Paris.

Was able to get my R20B8 recall completed last week as well, after the parts were a few weeks delayed in arriving. In and out in about 90 minutes.

Had no driveshaft issues I was aware of before or after, but glad I did it all the same.

Yep, they did mine also, no problems, back in March.

Also replaced my headlight, both front wheel bearings, and all belts and pulleys for free!

I got mine done yesterday, no issues. Appears to be a steel driveshaft, was I correct in where is read that the original was carbon fiber or did I miss something?
