Just yesterday,I noticed a sound coming from the intake manifold side of the bay. it sounded like the intake was leaking or something and was quite loud. it didnt affect the idle, power, or anything with the car. Until today. Today as i was driving to class, i noticed that the motor would bog out if i was in a high gear going 30mph, was stagre to me. So when i parked the car, i stepped on the throttle, and it bogged out if i pushed on it real fast, kind of what a maf would do. But i reved it and it reved fine, as long a s i slowly push on the pedalI also noticed that when i stepped on the pedal to let it bog out, the rpms would just drop until i took my foot off the pedal, and i also noticed while it bogged out that smoke was coming out from the exhaust, not thick at all and it was gray-ish. I did it one last time (let it bog) and it died out. I tried to start the car and it wouldnt start. so, frustrated i just left the car and went to class. I havent had the time for anything as it jsut happened, rtight now im 'm in class and wont get out till later. Sorry for the typos but I'm in a hurry. Any ideas as to what's wrong with it?

KA24DE w/ CAI and exhaust, thats it.Its a 91 w/ a s14 head (so i'm told)Any ideas?Thanks and I appreciate the NICO love, you are always there to help

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Or a gasket on the intake somewhere has blown out...

That's what i initially though. But would that cause the car not to start? Or maybe I dumped too much fuel when tomding the throttle. Also would that make the car bog on wot?

You may have just flooded it. With insufficient amount of air it wont burn all the fuel...

Im in college too man, I understand. Try looking for it with you eyes, then ears, then once you have narrowed it down try plugging the leak with your finger and see if it helps.

Hmmm alright thanks a lot. Ilk be checking it out after class at a friends house. I'll get back then. I'm hoping to spend an evening and night doing all of it ASAP so I can make work the next day with a functioning car. It's kinda being optimistic hut well see where it goes.

False alarm. The bracket for the alternater belt popped out. It stripped the hole for it in the alternater:( its done it before. I'm just wondering what caused my car to bog out the way it did. The smoke was from the rich gas. Did an oil changeand only about a quart and a half was in the crankcase:( So got that all done.

Hmm it seems like my heater is always on. It's on off. But stil blows hot air. Thanks for all the help thouth zach
