I'm still pissed about that show.rc1honda wrote: It was written by the "Lost" tv show guys and it shows in that none of the big questions ever get answered.
In a the first Alien. They found a abandoned ship. In the ship they find the Space Jockey now known as the Engineers in Prometheus. And it is also where the first encounter the face huggers and xenomorphs (the killer aliens).Looneybomber wrote:Ok, just watched the theatrical version of Alien. Not much going on in that movie; they fly through space, pick up an alien, the science guy is an android from the company, and then Ripley kills the alien. Not much of a thriller/suspense movie. Not many questions brought up, let alone, left unanswered. Maybe I missed something...
I really like the Alien movies. I just thought Prometheus was poor effort in writing, acting and plot. Seems like there are many other critics who feel the same way. Like I said it was entertaining, but as far as it being some grand sci-fi epic as it was touted to be, it fell embarrassingly short.Razi wrote:Just like how Batman is about some dude in a suit beating up bad guys and how Toy Story is about some talking toys.
If you don't like or get the series, it's completely okay.

You would figure that a deep space exploration project would bring some smarter people. Like you know people who can at least speak scientific terminology, and not just act dumb and surly.
The dialogue was boneheaded. I mean if they sent a crew of 3rd graders there the dialogue would of made sense. The acting was bad in general. I saw Snow White and Charlize gave a brilliant performance as the queen. This script made her look like a amateur.
The plot holes were huge, and some never get developed at all. In the beginning the plot seemed grand and awesome, then it boiled down to just another get killed by bad things plot. All in all i think the script and writing were just bad. It was written by the "Lost" tv show guys and it shows in that none of the big questions ever get answered. Which IMHO is a bad thing for movies. Sure leave it open for sequel, but give us something to sink our teeth into.
Was definitely worse then I expected.
RC1 pointed out some details I didn't pick up on, or just dismissed thinking they weren't significant. The alien space ship with the dead guy (space jockey? don't remember that name mentioned) I just blew off because I was focused purely on the action and suspense of being a horror/thriller movie. Overall, not a lot of conflict/action in Alien, so my ADD kicks in.Razi wrote:Just like how Batman is about some dude in a suit beating up bad guys and how Toy Story is about some talking toys.

It's never mentioned, in either movie. But the fans gave it that name when they started speculating about what he was, who he was, why he was there, and what that thing he was sitting in was.Looneybomber wrote:The alien space ship with the dead guy (space jockey? don't remember that name mentioned)
