Has anybody ever used these? I am about to buy them from Projectsilvia. $230 shipped for both! They are 3" mandrel bent stainless steel.

Also, I am thinking about buying my sr20det from them. They are close to me so I can pick it out myself. What do you guys think about them in general. I have had a very positive experience so far - Robert is very helpful.

supposedly, the Blitz DP will give the smoothest flow over the GReddy, HKS, and various other ones that are in the 80mm range.

But honestly, you cannot really notice any difference. maybe 1-2hp. But I got the Blitz just because its stainless steel.

Since I owned a honda before, testpipe and straight pipes were always the same to me. But seems different w/ turbos because of the DP. I need something to replace the cat as of now on my KA before i do the SR. So can I use the straight pipe? Whats the difference between the straight and the test? Is it jus the fact that one has a resonator? Or is one shorter than the other since its attached to the DP? I searched and couldn't find anything, if this has been discussed, please give me the link...thanx

I got an HKS down pipe and Apex N1 exust for my S13. They are 3". I wanted to get an HKS exust for my car but they didn't have it in 3", so I had to settle with the N1. It is not bad, but I put my stock KA cat. on. The exhust and down pipe bolts on perfect. I got both for like 450.

They are the same thing. Very few straight/test pipes are resonated. The Projectsilvia is though.

The turbo exhaust is set up like this...

turbo manifold flows to turbo, which then flows to downpipe, which then flows to cat/test/straight pipe, which then flows to catback exhaust.

Hope this helps.

OK..Thanx...:D I know exactly what the setup is. Project Silvia just confused me by naming the same thing 2 different names, so i thought maybe in turbo setups, the downpipe mite be a lil longer and the straight pipe would be shorter. Thanx for the reply....:thinker

Jus to inform everyone that doesn't know, the test pipe and straight pipe WILL fit the stock KA manifold as well as any aftermarket downpipes. The straight pipe is the same as the test pipe(substituting the cat), except the straight pipe has a resonator which will not affect any HP loss. This information is given to me by projectsilvia. its nice to know that it is resonated. that means to dont have to buy an exhaust system with a resonator or find a place to put one.

and yes a resonator in a straight through exhaust is a GOOD thing. it eliminates the fart can sound

beautiful. I will definitely be ordering from them.

I had a greddy mx with cat and then got a test pipe and it ruined the sound of the exhaust :(

Yes and no... you can use it with a KA header, but it doesn't bolt onto it, there is another piece of exhaust piping between the header and cat (at least on my S14). But yes, it will replace your factory cat just fine.

...and if you read my post above, I also said it will bolt UP, but not "ONTO" the stock header just fine. the test pipe does not attach to the header. Go outside and look under your car ... there is absolutely nothing complicated about a test pipe... but anyhow, who cares about KA in here anyway, this is the SR20DET forum.

Ok, u mind telling me your definition of bolting up and onto? You're right, there is nothing complicated about a test pipe, but you seem to make it complicated. You're also right, who cares about the KA, but the subject was on Projectsilvia test pipes, so I just thought i'd ask in this thread instead of starting up another one in the KA section.

Silguy, I'm sorry but I was not completely clear. Most 240s I have seen have 2 catalytic converters. Yours may not, is it an s13 or s14? My s14 has one after the header and another halfway back, between two pieces of exhaust piping that come after and before it. The first one after your header which goes down at about a 45degree angle has three bolts at the top, just like a Sivia downpipe and two bolts on the bottom. This is what you see under your hood. The second one has two bolts on either end set at different angles, just like the projectsilvia test/straight pipe. This is the piece that the projectsilvia test pipe will replace. Not the one right after your header. That is why I said it bolts up (to your exhaust system) but not onto your header.
