What is that 1" Bung for on the Lower Hot Pipe piece?

http://www.courtesyparts.com/M...104-3

What is that for? its on both kits which im sure are identical.

Is it for a JGS Style BOV?

Any suggestions on blocking that thing off?

it is for a BOV. you can get 1" rubber caps for it. but why do that when you can put a BOV on it?

Hmm, thatll put my BOV really low, like only 6-7 inches above the bottom of the FMIC. I see now that my Hot Pipe will route right below the PS resevoir in the opening. I guess itll keep the engine bay less cluttered but, oh well. Ill have my Modular Flange welded on there i guess.

I'm surprised you didn't realize that's for a BOV, I asked you about that not too long ago!

I know david but its so freaking low and and oddly placed on the piping.

The way it looks. Ill have to cut into that metal part where the stock box filter was. Or it might be under that. O.o.

The BOV would be visible right there if my piping were on your car. The BOV would be pointing back to the right and towards kind of the rear tire. It wouldnt project into the engine bay.

If you've ever seen how the factory recirculation valve and SMIC are setup, you would notice that the valve comes off of one of the pipes for the SMIC. Those piping kits assume you are you using the factory recirc valve, which is in that location. Most just cap it and use a BOV mounted on the hotpipe. I had a customer car with the factory SMIC, with an HKS SSQV mounted down there. Sounded pretty cool being on the outside of the car.

Im not Venting to Atmosphere. Ill try and see if there is room. If not...Ill cut a hole in my Hot pipe and have my Modular Flange welded on there and cap that bung.
