Has anyone seen someplace selling projector light kits for a 96 240sx? I've been looking and can only find them for the '98 240sx so far. The shape of the assembly looks different from my '96 model, so I assumed they wouldn't fit properly.

whynot do 97-98 conversion then? its pretty simple. to tell u the truth, i like the more elegant look of the zenki 95-96 compared to the pissed off lookin slanted 97-98.

I thought of doing that, but at first glance it looked like I would have to replace the grille and possibly the hood. I didn't want to do that much just to get projectors.

they dont make projectors for that model, well not that i know of. if u do 97-98 conversion, u need grill, hood, bumper, bumper lenses, 97 fenders, headlights and corner lenses.

i still wish there were projectors for the Zenki S14, i like the zenki front better than the kouki, s15 conversion is too expensive for just a few body panels and light assemblies, u can get SPL coilovers and a vlsd for that.

if the zenki headlights were designed similar to the r33 headlights(full clear fronts), i think this would look really sexy.

Ah well...thanks for the input guys, but I have to put any mods on hold for a while. I bought the car last week, and finally got it into the shop to get it properly checked out. The jerk who sold it to me cleaned the crud in under the oil fill cap on the vavle cover, so I couldn't see the caked up oil that was built up in there until the valve cover was removed.

The dealership mechanic wouldn't even recommend trying to flush the engine. He said it could hasten the demise of the engine. It still runs good for the moment, but will cease up eventually.

Any ideas on where to find a good replacement engine around Houston?? And a good mechanic to do the swap?

Why not just do a R33 headlight swap...they look pretty close to the s14 betcha the swap wouldn't be too complicated...

that is a no no... it will look like A$$... they are close but not quite.. will have major gap issues... will not look right at all..

now if you want.. you can try to mold the J30 headlights in.. those are a better fit than R33...

or you can fabricate some BMW projectors in your self...

Hey, BTW, since you are in Sugar Land, TX.... how is it over there... I am actually looking into houses out there... will be moving out there in about 2 years or so.. just doing my research...

well obviously i didn't expect you to put the R33 lights and leave them as is... you'dd have to fix gaps...but the total work on it wouldn't be too too bad

Sugar Land is nice, but like the rest of Houston, it has it's areas. I'm right on the southwestern edge of Sugar Land, and really like the area. I moved out here from inside the loop, so I had to deal with culture shock for about 6 months. But the area I am in is quiet, and police are always around, so nothing much happens.

Home values depend on where you buy. But I got my house for a steel because the previous owners had to leave town and were getting despirate. But the values in my neighborhood keep going up, as they are finishing construction on the new homes. The area is extremely diverse. When you visit public areas, you definately see a huge variety of cultures and ethnicities. For those of us who like that, it's really neat, but I have know people that it annoys to no end.

The only negative I can think of to living out here is dealing with all the road raging soccer moms who are reading novels or the news paper (while not applying make up) while they are driving on the roads. And can't forget the kids who are just learning how to drive. I had an I30 that got smacked by a kid while it was parked in a parking lot. The kid had just gotten a new jag. x-type. The traffic on HWY 59 is a real pain during rush hours, but they are in the process of widening it, which will help enormously.

Thanks for the offer, but I need to see how the engine pans out first before I start sinking money into mods. I'll keep your email around if the motor thing works out.

Um. you click on it.

The problem w/ the R33 lights is that they are significantly longer than the S14 lights. You would have to figure out something to do with the grill, but I suppose shortening the grill is pretty minor as far as body work is concerned.

guy here at school had R33 headlights on his car, they didnt fit that well, but looked badass from a distance where u couldnt see he gaps and overhang... he had to make custom mounting brackets too cuz they dont line up with the regular s14 mounting points.
