Hey I'm thinking about retrofitting my headlights with projectors. What do you guys think? yes or no and any ideas would be appreciated.

i think its a good idea, i mean look at it this way, hids without projectors the light scatters and its illegal because then you can blind someone, but with the projectors its a nice even horizontal and looks cool too imo (:

I say go for it. Its not gonna be cheap thats for sure, unless you are talented enough yourself. Then you just need to make sure you are aiming them correctly. I have an aftermarket HID kit in my headlights (50 watt ballasts with 35 watt bulbs, 5000k color, very white) I do not get flashed especially since I realigned them down. They were ridiculous how high I had them before. Now its just a little bit higher than stock but such an improvement. Haven't been flashed yet. But when I get a better job, then hells yes, its HID projectors for me. :woot: lightwerkz.net will be doing mine. Their work is phenomenal.

Well i decided not to do it. mostly because i didn't know what i was doing, and it was hella expensive. and i didn't want to risk spending the money and failing at it. So i just threw in some 55watt ballasts with 10000k 35 watt bulbs and i get flashed at every once in a while lol! but the cops don't seem to mind. And i pulled apart my lights and painted them black on the inside and it looks awesome.

How hard was it to pull apart the headlights? I've heard mixed reviews from people with 07+ Altimas, with some saying it wasn't that hard at all (just a little elbow grease), and some others saying they actually just gave up the whole project because the lense started melting, the glue wouldn't loosen up, etc.

Oh it was a total pain in the a$$. The glue is nearly impossible to melt without risking anything. My brother and I just kept sticking it in the oven until we got some of it apart then we just went nuts until it came apart. But once it's apart the rest is super easy lol.

So it is true, haha. Hmm.. I figure if I have a whole day off, it wouldn't be that bad. What kind of sealant did you use (if at all) to reglue them back together? I know some people bought some stuff from Home Depot, and some just put them back in the oven and let it get mushy so the glue could restick.
