1. the F50 has projectors.
2. I don't know about the previous models
3. Audi is really the only mfg to have an led headlamp and it's on the 2011 flagship. what are you refering to? Possibly LED daytime driving lights...similar to the new Medrcedes and new Audis?
4. there is an aftermarket of 'Retro Projectors" that are modified into an exisiting headlamp assembly. HIDPlanet.com is a very good site. the major sponsor is THE RETRO STORE. as a side not, it is illegal to alter headlamps, i'm just saying.
4. when you say 'euro' do you mean the crystal lens?

I use google when I have a question that I can't find the answer to after using the SEARCH function on nico.

No Y33 sold in US.

1999-2001 FGY33 had HID low beam.

Then you will need ballasts and headlight units from a 1999-2001. Not inexpensive. Used are often marred and require polishing.

I know this will be some work and money too... How good can the used headlight units be polished up? I hope they can be polished up new looking.... I may just buy an extra pair of used headlight just in case. My pockets may not be deep enuff for a new pair.... I found a link this morning with a "do-it-yourself" video... http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/content ... headlights
this may be a good project...

THe plasitc on the lens is a 'finished' product. Which means that it is opically correct. so (from the factory) the lens is as smooth as needed,(no swirls) and it has a finish coat, similar to the clear coat on paint.

What a lot of the 'polishing kits' don't provide or tell you is that you have stripped away the finish coat and they don't provide a sealer or finish product to wipe or spray on.

tutle wax kit has a single use 'lens sealing wipe' that cures in 24 hours.
there are also seperate individual products that are designed to 'seal'

my concern is that once you strip it by 'polishing' it, how long before you have to 'treat' it again. This is a relitively young cottage industry so it's hard to say that in the long haul -3-5 to whenever yrs -the result will last.
also, read some of the posts by do it yourselfers, not everybody has success.
but hidplant is a very good place to look
