Here's to many happy years of driving. I love you, Bex. :)
I love you too, so much. :) The. Best. Engagement. Gift. Ever. She is absolutely gorgeous. I promise I'll try not to break her. :couch :chuckle:

Is it an optical illusion, or does that exhaust clamp hang REALLY close to the pavement?
Not a clamp - that's the DP bracket. It's a bit of an illusion (shadow), but yeah - it's freakin' low.

Something they don't tell ya when you start one of these projects: There's NO PLACE to run a proper exhaust. The larger trans hogs up ALL of the tunnel, and lowering it takes away any shot at running it along the floorpan.

Guess who's gonna have to bite the bullet and find some oval tubing and bends?

Car looks amazing!!!

Yes oval tubing is a must, cause a speedbump is going to do bad things at that ride height.

Any more asthetics coming to the exterior? Glass headlight covers? I assume fender mirrors as the normal side mirrors are gone? Tinted windows?

A hood scoop and a huge three wing spoiler on the back? No? lol.

Yeah I was gonna say... oval or rectangular tubing would be your best bet.

Hell, if you have a badass press, you could probably make your own. Flanges would suck though :p

No headlight covers.
I don't especially care for the fender mirrors.
Tinted windows - no need. She will not be driven in the summer time, unless it is after dark or REALLY early in the morning. No A/C.
Scoop / spoiler - :squint:

Nothing else is getting added except...

ZG flares. :)

BTW< hood wasn't closed in those pics. Oops.

I'm gonna throw a Broadway mirror in it and see if it's sufficient. If not, I have a OEM Z driver's side mirror I'll paint to match the wheels and the flares (gunmetal).

We're thinking of splitting the 3" into dual 2", twin resonators, no mufflers. Not sure how the exhaust will pan out. For now, it's open downpipe and screw the neighbors. :)

you getting wider wheels? I wouldn't add flares unless I needed them to cover fatty tires

WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!! :)
'tis a good world to be in. I've been in it for a while now though... I'm probably gonna order up some sort of muffler (and flex pipe) this winter.

They're 1.5" or so outta the fenders now. Certainly not a necessity. Just a 'want'.

Funny story.... On the way back from working on Bella, I found a model 240Z for sale with^^ All of the above, haha.

Image

(Has the proper "Z" on the license plate)
Image

Even has the exact same spoiler as Bella!
Image

Probably wouldn't have bought it if I hadn't gotten to work on this car, haha.

Too cool.

Today, I got the driver's door finished (sealed up, installed arm rest and interior handle and door panel), and worked on the center stack of the console. Gonna do the passenger side tomorrow.

I'm sooo jealous... I've had my s30 for 3 years and really haven't been able to do much with it... The RB25det I had got sold for financial reasons...

I'm probably going to put the l6 back in her for now, and am debating what motor to swap in... either vq, Ls1, or nissan v8. I want to keep it all nissan, but the ls1 is seducing me with its (relatively) cheap easy power and huge aftermarket...

Any suggestions Greg?

Build the OEM motor up. You're gonna drop a pile of cash on an LS (I always spend about double what I originally thought I would)...

Yeah I recently discovered that its even possible to swap to fuel injection on the older carbed l series motors... maybe I'll look for a l28et...

the L28ET is the best bang for the buck, and a pretty simple swap, everything just bolts in you drill 1 hole to run the harness through and hook up a half dozen wires and you're done, the LS certainly has it's advantages but it comes at a price

Beautiful car! This is a sort of random question but, what color is the car painted? As the others have mentioned, its really close to the stock color a lot of older Nissan cars were painted, including my 720 pickup. When I respray the truck, I want to keep as close to stock as possible. I've always had a soft spot for the older Z's....

It's actually a 2005 Honda Odyssey color... can't recall the name, but it's my favorite.
