Unfortunately, wishful thinking was all it amounted to. On my way home from work, as the odometer turned 254,310 miles...the 240 finally let me down. There was a tremendous amount of internal wear so instead of finding and fixing what was wrong, I bought a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta. Now that I have a daily I figured "go big or go home". That's when the build took a dramatic turn from a 200hp daily to the 350-450+hp toy it will become. Here's the car as it sits, and the plans I have for it.

Gonna have to helicoil a couple of the holes for the plugs

Got the Pistons and Rods and took everything to the machine shop that night to be matched to the cylinders. Picked up Clevite Main and Rod Bearings, along with some ARP Main Studs a couple days later

Got the Block and Crank back from the shop, installed new brass freeze plugs, painted the block, and assembled the bottome end. Now the head is in progress.
