I got permission to post this up, since I've been helping these guys.

This is a 1990 RX-7 FC with LS1. A lot of stuff done to this car and is going to be a scary beast. A lot of custom work done and definatly not for the average, or slightly advance builder.

This is Pumakings/MegasquirtCA's brothers car, all the mechanical work done by his brother, pumaking, turbogixxer, and me. All Electrical and tuning done by turbogixxer.

We started it up last week and man that thing sounds like a beast.

its not streetable yet, theirs A LOT of stuff to do like putting everything back together, and tune it, but it looks like all the hard stuff is out of the way.

My friend Angel is doing the same project. He bought a clean *** FC Turbo Edition that previously had a LS1 in it. The interior is mint with full SCCA roll cage. He got an LS1, hes doing heads and crazy cam. Its red just like that one. Hes got Volks 17x8.5 (f) 17x9.5(r) ill take pics whenever it gets done. It will be awhile, they just started. But that combination of motor and chassis is insane.

Looks cool. But in my opinion, the best thing for an RX7 is the rotary engine. Chevy v8... hey its your money and time. We all do what we like. Great job on the custom stuff. Must be great for going in a straight line!

Looks clean, but as a former FC owner, and as a rotary nut, I can't approve. I don't get LS1 into import swaps. Maybe b/c I hate drag racing and mullets.

well amazingly because the LS1 is so light, it still maintains its perfect weight distribution. The LS1 is not that much heavier than the CA18DET.

Put it this way Mazda made a awesome car they just put in the wrong motor. Why not do it, you get a N/A monster that has over 300whp without doing anything. You maintain perfect weight distribution, dont have to worry about turbo lag your power is instant, the rotary looks good on paper

This car isnt gonna do much drag racing, its strictly Autox and track runs. Eventually when Puma and his brother are done they are gonna go to Deals Gap/Dragon's Tail with a butt load of people.

There was a Sil-eighty in Indianapolis who had a V8. It was funny when he tried drifting it. All it would do was spen out. Thank you for saying that the LS1 weights about the same as a CA18. I've heard other people compare it to a 13B . Best of luck w/ your projects, just too bad Americans don't know how to tune a rotary... over 300 hp from a 1.3!

Where do you live? I know here it's became a new fad to install Domestic motors into imports. Looks clean! Even though its not my cup of tea!

The one and only LS1 in an RX7--- http://www.shockdrifting.com/a...id=49Vid at the end -- http://www.lukelonberger.com/m...1.wmv

Nothing else compares.
