Well I have started to make my own adaptor plate so thought i may post some pics and info. I decided to make my own adaptor to bolt up a Z32 5sp as all the available adaptor plates are for the VH45de meaning that only half the bolts line up and not fitting perfect as the VH45 and VH41 have the starter on different sides and therefore vary in shape and bolt pattern. The plan is..... Start with a 10mm steel plate, remove bell housing from gearbox, drill dowel holes and bolt holes in plate so that plate locates and bolts to bell housing, take bell housing and plate to machine shop and have them transfer centre line from front bearing in bell housing to the plate and machine a hole in plate to neatly fit over crankshaft of VH41, plate can now be removed from bell housing and will slide onto back of motor locating perfectly centre to the centreline of gearbox, next drill dowel holes and bolt holes to locate perfectly on back of motor while centred on crankshaft, have the centre machined out of plate to clear flywheel, have 5mm machined off bell housing surface to reduce amount that adaptor spaces gearbox from back of motor, use factory VH flex plate spacer behind Z32 flywheel to space out further 3mm.
plate drilled to locate on dowels of bell housing.
all done with a cordless drill lol.
I have the hole bored in plate to locate on crank and will get a pic up of that soon.
