Good day to all...

Sad to see the state of forums today is terrible, full of people cursing and flaming..etc. I was happy to find this site and found some great reads in just a few moments. Adults with something to contribute ;)

I am new to this forum but not new to forums, once upon a time I was a moderator over on evom.net, two Evo's later here I am with my first 240sx project. I plan a HUGE list of mods and have already invested lots in the last two months. I will work to post pics as allowed and offer up things I find along the way. I hope to complete by next summer and bucking the trend will likely keep the 4spd AT and opt to invest the money in tuning and possible rebuild/refresh with a mild overbore.

Great Forum Guys/Gals and it is really nice to be here.

Mods so far:

Kenwood Excelon System with 7" Components F&R
BC Racing Coiovers with Swift spring upgrade
Rebuilt Front Suspension with new inner/outer tie rods, megan bushings, new ball joints, SPC Adj Compression Rods
Currently aligned at about 6deg castor with 2 deg neg camber up front with 2.5 neg in rear. 10 clicks out from full soft.
Model year 97/98 Calipers/Rotors (Stop Tech Sport Kit) Super Blue and DOT lines

Lots more coming soon (although more budget oriented so I can actually contribute to wedding costs in Oct...lol)

Welcome to NICO! I used to be active on EvoM between 03 and 04 before I got my S13. Glad to see you get into a good car ;). I kid. I kid!

EDIT: Bah stupid flickr. Can't pull the image link out to direct link it over here for you.

Car looks great, btw. Any motor plans?

That is a wikkid kleen job there :dblthumb: Nice work. The Excelon systems are nice ya? Which one did you go with? I recently installed one for someone, the 596 series I think, I was impressed with it.

What else do you have planned for it?

Keep up the good work!

And of course, post pix! :bigthumb:

Thanks Hijacker! I will try imbedding the pictures again, it didn't seem to work earlier. I want to post lots of pics as I know the story goes largely untold without pics. I am using Flickr so it should be easy to just cut/paste the link using the Img button. If you have another solution to get pics posted more easily let me know.

As far as the motor goes I would really like to do a mild overbore to net a 2.5l. I don't belive the motor will do well going to extremes so mild cams perhaps from an earlier motor (I hear),rebuilt head, slight bump in compression with headers, HF cat and decent exhaust (2.5" BRM). Hoping to get around 180 bhp...ish. I am not a pie in the sky numbers person, modest gains that are matched well to the car are what I am after. An AT SE sleeper....haha

Thanks Daemonyk

The deck is an Excelon X997 with 7" KFC-XP184C two way components front and rear. Running only on deck power it sounds very nice, I did not want the expense of an amp right now and I much prefer sound quality over deafening volume and huge subwoofers...lol

The sound processing in the head unit is simply incredible and the CD Player sounds fantastic (Bluetooth Audio isn't bad either). After a full day install at my local shop everything fit in stock locations (silk tweeters incl). The car needs some sound deadening so I will be addressing this as well. The 17" wheels and wider tires will just add to the noise and I want a solid running decently quiet ride

more pics and hopefully ones that display in the post very soon....work on that tomorrow

NP! :bigthumb: The 997 is a nice rig. Right now I have a 3 year old entry level JVC, but it's hooked up to 1000W of power on 2 6" 4 ways, 2 6x9 4 ways, and a 10" rockford punch series. Of course I only use maybe 1/3 of that power, tops. Overpowered, under-tuned. Even at high volume I get crisp sound though, and thats nice.

You did a much cleaner job than I did though, and I wish I'd done sound deadening while I was in there, but it just wasnt on my mind.

For the pix, try photobucket :gotme it's pretty easy and seems to work with everything cos they give you different types of code depending on where you want to post it.

Finally got the brakes done. Replaced all calipers and rotors, SS lines and super blue fluid. Used "StopTech's" Sport kit which proved to be quite nice.
Note: I used the 97/98 Front Calipers which are a bit larger as are the pads, you will need to modify the dust shields slightly to make ample room for the brackets. The net result is a bit softer pedal than stock but noticably better braking. For those wishing to do an upgrade without going the Z Caliper route, this is a nice option.
