So, any new drag strip times to defeat the slow N/A rumors? I have a slicktop as well and bone stock I ran a 14.7 and w/ a 1 piece and a short shifter I am at a 14.4 and my clutch is on its way out.

They are just factory clear corners. JDM or whatever. Concept Z Performance, iirc.

Unfortunately no, I didn't make it back to the strip before they closed down for the year. You're going to have to wait until Spring!

Greddy SP - They actually don't make it anymore, though I think they make a new version, SP2 perhaps, that's basically the same.

Christ, it has been nearly 6 months since my last update. Mostly because I've been busy as hell these last few months, but also because not much has happened as far as modifications to the car. Since the last update, I took the car in for an alignment and while trying to dial another degree of negative from the front, ended up yanking out the Stillen upper arms and replacing them with the Powertrix ones. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of the new stuff before Hurst finished the alignment. I'll make sure to snap a few pictures for the thread next time I get the car in the air. The Stillen pieces basically fell apart as you can see. That pile of crapola in the frame, that's the layers of rust that came out of the thing. It basically rusted from the inside out. Not very safe. Change to Alignment: -2.0 front camber-1.6 rear camberNo change to caster or toe. Not really noticable, but here's a picture of the stance as she sits today. So now, it's officially winter as I look outside and see snow on the ground and temps dipping into the negative during wind gusts. The Z is tucked away in the working garage and my Civic has it's winter wheels/tires mounted. It's time to get going with some of the over winter projects. I haven't recieved all the pieces that I need yet, but I thought I'd go ahead and post up pictures of what I have so far, weights, etc. New Flywheel - JWT My normal "Hand Model" was actually baking cookies while I was snapping shots, so you'll have to forgive the blurry shooting-while-weighing pictures. 11lbs 5 ounces The new pressure plate, also JWT 13lbs 6 ounces - Sorry so hard to read. New clutch disk, again JWT - Street 3lbs 9 ounces It's supposed to be fairly nice this weekend (low 50's) so I plan to get the car up in the air and at least try to get the exhaust off. We'll see how cold the garage floor is.

Did anyone already ask how you manage to afford all of this stuff?

I guess I could be asking that about anyone. Maybe I'm just a tight-a$$ and agonize over spending $700 on a timing belt kit. =)

I try to think that I haven't spent that much money on parts for the car, but in the world of reality, I suppose I've actually spent more on parts than I did buying the car. It's just the price of ownership of an older vehicle I guess. Things are bound to break, things need to be replaced to get them going. I've still spent far less than I would've going out and buying a new vehicle of the same caliber from the factory as this one is now.

How's that for justification?

On my Twin Turbo Z, it's entirely different. I get completely pissed at myself for the amount of money I have spent because I think thoughts like, "Well, we're at E46 M3 money now." and though I like all the cars and would have a hard time letting any of them go (save the 90 which I plan to sell in the spring) what I really want out of "the weekend car" is to be able to attend a track days and autocross with little to no fear of breaking or drama in general. The Slicktop, since the engine replacement, has delivered a lot more fun and smiles than my TT has. I guess it's why I don't mind spending money on it.

As far as where the cash comes from? Well, I have a job that grants me a fair wage. I set aside a dollar amount for the for the car budget each year to pay for insurance, car payments, gas, tires, brakes and any go fast or maintenance goodies for "the fleet".

They are boat anchors, something like 24lbs apiece. It's something I plan on addressing next year but, it's not that big of a deal during race season because I use the stock wheels with R-comps mounted up during the important events.

Since I plan on racing street tire during the regional events next year, I want to get something a bit lighter. I'm sort of waiting to see which tire to go with and the sizes available in that tire before I make a decision on wheel width. The Dunlop Star Specs were the tire of choice last year, but the new Kumho Ecsta XS's are looking very promising. Be assured that whatever wheel I select, it'll be a 17" and light weight.

I actually have already replaced the wheels on the TT. I don't have any really great pictures of it yet, but here is one I took the other day. Those are the 18" off a 2007 350Z.

I'll need new tires in the next 5,000 miles, and I'm torn as to whether I want to go with aftermarket RIM. I don't like a bunch of *bling*, and I prefer fewer spokes. The problem is finding one with few spokes, but still be extremely light.

Of course, I don't want to pay a lot either, but something will have to give...

I like the Enkei Racing RP03 and the Gram Lights 57Maximum....both of which are ~$300+ a wheel.

Usually, but I've been super busy with work lately and haven't done anything but that since Thanksgiving. I have yet to put the clutch/flywheel in or do my caliper rebuild the next two immediate steps in the process.

I go on vacation soon and will be hitting it pretty heavy during that time as Autocross season starts later next month. Keep an eye out for updates soon.

Hey Honad, you put on headers if I'm not mistaken, right?

I had a couple of questions.

Most people say headers on the NA w/o the motor pulled is a huge PITA, but do able. How did you install the headers?

Second, what exhaust did you go with? Is the exhaust not effective without the headers, or can you still get gains?

I was looking at the Labree H-pipe with resonators. I wanted some more "gusto" without an obnoxiously loud exhaust.

The thread is 6 pages long, image heavy, and I'm on a slow a** computer.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and not answer my question though.
